The subject of culture technolay and cultural content The present study aims to exaamine the culture technology and cultural contents of modern society. The recent development of information technology and digital technology is rapidly changing our sensitivity and ways of living. This change is expected to bring about the creation of a new culture, changes in distribution and consumption, and eventually structural changes in our society and culture. Until now, technology has been considered to have nothing to do with culture and to be just tools to make our lives more convenient. Nowadays, however, technology combines with culture actively, creating a new culture and expanding its territory. With the development of new digital technology, new media is now at the center of societal changes. Therefore, in order to understand modern society, it is vital to understand the new media. By examining culture technology, which is the technology or industry which produces cultural contents through new media, and the cultural contents, its products, this study will investigate how the union between culture and technology changes the culture of today and how literature can be used as cultural contents.

cyberspace Fantasia. The paper presents what people assume about cyberspace in Korea and in turn how they apply their belief to computer games and literature unfolding on the internet. In an effort to address the problems caused by their myth, I chose the topic as `Fantasia,` not `fantasy` as 1) the word `fantasy` isn often linked to a fantasy novel in the nation though I don`t obviously want my readers to view my point that way and 2) fantasia better conveys my intention to see narrative relation between computer games and novels. The buzzwords regarding cyberspace are non-verbal elements such as 3-D graphics, virtual reality and multimedia. Korea is dubbed as the world leader for an online game industry. A great number of game players are so excited about state-of-the art graphic MUD games, mainly roleplaying games that they are hardly aware of text-based games. It is well known that `cyberspace` was coined with `cybernetics` and `space.` Cybernetics were the term Nobert Wiener used to describe his theory on control and communication whose hallmark lies in a feedback system. Wiener obtained the idea of the word from a ship`s steering wheel of which feedback was then considered the most efficient control system. Feedback is information about the results of a set of actions. I extend this concept toward action & reaction system, the basic mechanism of running computer and cyberspace. In this context, classical text games well show what such interaction is all about, reflecting interactivity and narrativity. I gave an example of this linkage with Zork, one of the most famous text games published by Infocom. Therefore, when it comes to differentiated literature forms on the Internet, the focal point of electronic literature should go to textuality incurred by such interactive narrative. It is no connection with cyberspace has been too much centered around a fantasy novel just because this genre is actively published and shared online, which results in equation of a cyberspace novel and a fantasy fiction. As Tolkien, the grandaddy of the genre had a great influence on Dungeons & Dragons and other shining examples of classical text games, a fantasy novel is closer to games than online literature. Therefore, cyberspace literature discourses need to move beyond the genre and toward textuality of electronic narratives need to move beyond the genre and toward textuality of electronic narratives. Text games shed light on what computer-generated literature implies as the next generation form of literature with they were called--computer fictions and participatory novels as well as interactive fictions.

Kim Eung Hwan. 2002. Embodiment of Confucian values in Sam-saeng-ki-you Sam-saeng-ki-you emphasizes loyalty, one of the principal virtues of Confucianism, which is not concerned so much with the relationship between man and woman as with feudal loyalty, especially on the part of Wi-myong. First of all, Sm-saeng-ki-yon has the structure of repetition and reunion in a series of encounter (happiness) and separation (misery). Second, the novel is quite different from other novels in that it ends up with all of its main characters getting together in Mt. Paek-ho to live there in seclusion. The author puts much emphasis on Wi-myong`s quest of steadfast loyalty. Third, through the characterization of Lady Yang, the author presents a model for a young lady in the Chosun dynasty, who kind of embodies Confucian codes of conduct for women. Thus she values her chastity above her life and greatly sets store by faithfulness in marriage. Fourth, while the author reminds the reader of the commitment to the ideals of loyalty made by Saengyukshin (the six living retainers) as well as by Sayukshin (the six martyred scholar-officials), he has in mind to disclose that a significant shift in society emerges as followers in support of King Sejo`s usurpation of the throne are being driven from their positions in power. Fifth, presenting a transvestite King Chin who tries to defile Lady Yang`s honor in contrast to her unwavering virtue and strategic adoption of the dress of the opposite sex, the novel suggests that the contemporary society reinforce its standards of values weakened in the later half of the Chosun dynasty. It is in the socio-pllitical context that the authorities made efforts to restore order through measures such as erecting a hongsal-mun (red arrow gate) in honor of a chaste woman. Lastly, wearing clothes of the opposite sex as such can function enough to arouse curiosity and interest from the reader. This not only provides the background for other events following by turns, but considerably broadens the horizon of the novel.

Philological Study on Choi Su Wun`s Poems. This study provides philological consideration on the poems of Choi Su Wun(崔水雲), founder of Dong Hak, He left 13 pieces of poetry in his anthology, Dong Kyong Dae Jeon(東經大全). These poetic works have something to do with his religious life, and this can be found in some of the titles of his works. In other words, his poems written in Chinese characters denote religious prophecy, achievement and awakening. We can find that in six of his 13 works many fragmented verses constitute on poem under one poem under one title. We presume that this peculiar constitution is on account of the fact that Hae Wol, one of his disciples, edited his works this way when publishing Dong Kyung Dae Jeon arter Choi Su Wun was beheaded. Therefore it is very difficult to ascertain the motive or discover the date for these six works, and only the date that the fragmented verses were written are known to us. On the other hand, it was comparatively easy to find the date and the motive for the rest of his works. On the basis of theme, his poems can be categorized into 1) the works describing religious prophecy, 2) the works emphasizing religious discipline and 3) the works chanting religious awakening. The works belonging to the first category are Gyul, Woo-Eum, Kang-Si and Jeol-Gu. Jwa-Jam, Yoo-Go-Eum and Si-Moon belong to the second category, and the third category is composed of Ip-Chun-Si, Wha-Gyul-Si, Yong-So and so on. Choi Su Wun`s poems writted in Chinese characters are closely related to his religious life. All these works express his religious awakening, meditation or discipline.

The possibility of Eco Human Science and Ecologica Imagination as seen in "The Mountain" written by Lee, Hyo Seok-From thbuddhist`s point of view toward Jung Saeng(衆生). This paper is a part of the wor to extract the theories about ecology from the tradition of eastern cultural science and to establish new comments of eco-literature and eco-human science by grafting these theories on western ecology. The ideal is to keep the balance of the life systems of humans and nature, the self and the world and to live lives on the earth with harmony. This is Ecotopia. This Ecotopia. This is what ecology wants to accomplish. Ecotopia is made possible by the arena of art, especially literature. This is the only thing that can keep its autonomy from the logic of the market system based on Capitalism. The western logos-centric ideology and human-centric ideology fixed by the philosophy of Descartes is broken up by illuminating the Buddha`s point of view toward mankind which is seen through the worlds view of Buddhism. Buddhist point of view toward mankind helps us speculate about lives with an organic view of the world. The speculation about life and death in Pati Tyasamutpa das(Yeon gis) point of view breaks up the binary opposition between the animate and the inanimate. The worlds view of Buddhist becomes a new possibility of the 21st centurys eco-human science by providing a new paradigm to take a view of the whole arena of ecological mechanism. I looked around for the possibility of the eco-literature in Korean literature from the analysis of Lee, Hyo Seoks work, "The Mountain". Lee, Hyo Seok wrote his works, as a form of critical aesthetics against Fascism of Imperialism, while the clouds of World War Ⅱ hung heavily. He created his works as the harmony of nature with the aesthetic imagination of harmony between the self and the world. This is in contrast to the object-oppressive Totalitarianism. In this perspective, there is a necessity for the illumination of eco-literature that is prevalent in Korean literature that was written in the 1930s. This necessity is suggested as a flow of the 3rd worlds literature that originated in the east Asian ideology against western Fascism.
