A great surprise to the general public when photographs were first produced after the invention of the camera in mid 19th century, photographs today have become works of art eagerly sought by the world`s most renowned museums. A notable aspect in the diachronic change of the photograph from science to art is that the photograph has become an object not only of impression but of analysis as a photographic text. The linguistic and semiotic concepts as well as concrete analytic methods once reserved for literary text analysis have been applied to various genres of art, including the photograph. This study makes a cultural semiotic analysis of the constructive elements of the photograph as text. In so doing, it asks how culture can be read in the photographs taken by Bruno Barbey, member Magnum. What image or culture of Korea can be studied in the photographs taken by Barbey of the quickly developing Korea from the early 20th century? In what ways can images of culture revealed in these photographs be systematically and logically taught to public? The study attempts to answer these questions and proposes a semiotic analysis of the photographic text.

이형기 시에 나타난 우로보로스 시학

People thus believed that endless repetition, namely, eternal repetition exists therein. It was recognized as a continuous tangling of creation and fading, continuity and discontinuity, and existence and non-existence in the fulfillment of the desperate and absolute preposition of "beginning is the end," and essentially emptiness. This is because, in Yi Hyeong-gi`s poems, emptiness, serving as the framework of thought, is of great help in understanding the Ouroboros. The Ouroboros serves as double mechanisms in Yi Hyeong-gi`s poems. It functions as the two axes of the surface and the inner side, and penetrates nearly a half of the whole poems or exists in a single poem. The surface mechanism function can be possible when the true poet attitude is maintained through the ironical remarks of linking to eternity through endless confirmation of defeat. On the other hand, the inner function externally aims for fading and perishing, negation and despair, destruction and tremble, and crisis and dismantling of civilizations, and yet internally pledges to achieve creation and sublimation, affirmativeness and wind, overcoming and healing, and nature and bondage. This outwardly allows extreme emptiness to serve as its central element, and yet internally hides its strong will to transcend it. Hence, the Ouroboros poetics of Yi Hyeong-gi links himself to the reality of stimulating his will and language, and yet serves as another axis. His contribution to will is directly linked to his vision or ability of writing and leads himself to a firm revolutionist. In that sense, his contribution to language also continues to serve to stimulate the infiniteness of poem and poesie and helps mass-produce liberated poetic words. Thus, the Ouroboros, together with Buddhist thoughts such as transmigration, forms the frame of poetic transformation of Yi Hyeong-gi, as well as secures the foundations as the embodiment of thoughts. Furthermore, Yi Hyeong-gi was a poet who evoked his strong will to expect changes as desperate despair emptiness accumulated and thus attempted to vent unconditional despair and strong desire for revival. Thus, the more he outwardly colludes with the devil or decadence, he cannot inwardly avoid his strong will to overcome this. As he repeated defeat and challenge, he did not forsake the nature of devil, and also, he cooperated with the devil and yet proposed equal conditions. The Myth of Sisyphus is mentioned in connection with him, because such a road is never a smooth one. The Ouroboros poetics shown across the poems of Yi Hyeong-gi also serve as two functions. One is a paradoxical will to eschatology, and this is revealed through the poetic circulation ring where the will to overcome and transcend the end, amid the existence of th Ouroboros of prosperity and emptiness that repeats original emptiness and original nil. This is because it is not unrelated to the thought of "nothing existed" he early cherished. The other is the manifestation of negation and dismantling, and overcoming and win-win. His will to transcend and create as emptiness and despair grow deeper is yet another reality of his strong cohesion. In other words, the Ouroboros poetics that involves the harmony with nature and far-sighted view-destruction and dismantling-transcending and creation embraces the context penetrating the whole of his poetry.

This study examined Wandeugi by Kim Ryeo-ryeong in terms of multicultural family, growing process of the subject, and patterns of teachers who practice multicultural education based on Bakhtin`s Carnival Theory. Wandeugi is a story about the growth of Wandeugi who comes from a minority and multicultural family that our society tries to cover up. He is the son of a minority individual that is a midget and the son of a Vietnamese mother in an international marriage. Compared to his dismal family background, the entire work is rich in "comic" elements in the atmosphere. And the driving force behind such a humorous atmosphere is Bakhtin`s Carnival Theory. Addressing race, social class, and gender liberation, the theory creates a venue for festivals, whose moods are usually represented by curses, vulgar words, excretion, maximization of the lower body, and food. Those elements are transformed in Wandeugi. The "carnival-like" characteristics that mature a festive atmosphere are altered, whose cases include curses and vulgar words in the talks between Wandeugi and his homeroom teacher, the foods made by his mother who left home on her return, his "sweat" when he was committed to boxing, and his midget father and stuttering Nam Min-gu absorbed in "dance." In an unfortunate family environment, Wandeugi creates opportunities to communicate with his homeroom teacher, mother, and neighbors through carnivals and exhibits the possibility of overcoming his unhappy life.

This study aims at investigating function of Mugunghwa park, its value as Mugunghwa archetype material to develop park, and searching for plan. The central and local governments try to develop about 20 Mugunghwa park with budget of thousands of millions won. There are also concerns every park will be standardized just showing species of Mugunghwa. Therefore the functions Mugunghwa park should have are suggested based on analyzing correlation between the aim of developing Mugunghwa park and enhancement action. ① Gardening function as offering scenic place ② Educating function as informing correctly and widely ③ Cultural function as offering entertainment. And the parks should be developed based on their differentiation of local characteristic. The strategy is followed for the parks which will be developed in 3 areas. ① Cultural identity and asset of the area ② Considering characteristic of census such as resident, and access such as transportation ③ Review on operation and management The Mugunghwa park should be developed with strengthened educational function in Namyangju Byeolnae, scenic place for Kimpo Hangang new town, and cultural function for Daejeon Doan new town. The functions of park should be internalized and operated within facility and program, rather than being expressed to users directly. In this point of view storytelling strategy seems to be useful. Mugunghwa has been with Korean for longtime and told by record and story. As the archetype materials have their own story, it will be useful to use them as materials for developing park. Besides the archetypes have their own identity with legitimacy, and they will make people have bond of sympathy possibly. As archetype materials are applied as storytelling factors to developing parks in 3 areas, some appropriate materials are found for differentiating the parks. Therefore storytelling strategy based on Mugunghwa archetype material is estimated to work with high value.

The goal of this study is to investigate the relationship between a bound noun `keos` and its prior & posterior elements in the `21st Century Sejong Corpus` in order that we may study the collocation of the bound noun `keos`. Accordingly, we first studied the collocation of suffixes and case markers of the bound noun `keos` as its prior & posterior elements. Then, we researched the verbs co-occurring with the bound noun and its posterior forms combined with case markers, through a frequency analysis of the posterior elements. In addition, we tried to figure out how well the description of the bound noun in a dictionary has been made in terms of its collocation. We compiled a usage index, using `NLPTools`, based on the `21st Century Sejong Corpus` and studied the collocation of the bound noun, using `t-score` & `MI-score`. As a result, we fond that the prefixes such as `ha-` and `toy-` and the suffixes such as `i-` and `kath-` made a collocation with the bound noun `keos`. However, those combinational structures of the bound noun and case markers such as `keosita`, `keoseun`, `keosi` showed a relatively high frequency rate, and so did those verbs co-occurring with these structures as in `anita` and `sasilita`. In conclusion, we could posit that the bound noun `keos` and its prior & posterior elements may be formed together to make idiomatic phrases.
This study was aimed at analysizing the diverse aspects of new self-consciousness of modern city-space, creating shapes of detective. In detective novels, detective have good command of demanding inductive reasoning and scientific knowledge to solve the crimes, because they had been based on the genre pattern of the western classical detective novels. The strained relations between inductive reasoning and crimes, is valid for crime-space. This study makes a feature of emphasizing the way one thinks of insight not the representations of modern city-space in 〈Ma-In〉. The number of crimes in 1930`s Gyengsong is on the increase, variety of provinces of the modernity be piled up one on another. It is no accident that detective novel is coeval with the construction of the new housing form in modern city. The shape of detective is entirely the product of modern city. First, on the theory of Tuan, figuratively speaking, `space` means movement, opening and threat, on the other hand, `place` means quiescence, safety and stability. That`s detective`s share of work to convert space to place through reveal a secret of space. 〈Ma-In〉`s main character, Yu-Bulan, conceiving detective, communes with city-space in the concrete. He traced not only city`s surface but also city`s glittering facade, makes a strong appearance of the `Flaneuse`, collector, thinking machine, is defined as an his ability to figures out the cryptic clues with independent rationality and individuality. However, the Japanese colonial period in the 1930`s, physical conditions of modern city is allowed as a mere formality, but practical experience and edifice, `substance of place`, is in poor condition. As a major text, Gyengsong that is no such thing as a purely specific origin and identity, that could well are very disorderly to decipherthe codes of space elements. Both writer and main character are searching not only for reality, but what lies beyond this, because so many things in their own age has failed them. Korean detective novels in the 1930`s was fated to be on the horns of a dilemma that be enforced to engages in creative writing on poor setting of the story. This study tries to display the distinctive feature of the detective novels in the 1930`s through the analysis of 〈Ma-In〉. To study this character of 〈Ma-In〉 can be a try to find the identity of Korean detective novels. The readers can find out features of the Korean detective novel through the indigenous detective novel in 1930`s. In conclusion, 〈Ma-In〉 is the story of `detective of end in failure`. Detective can`t rescue the a lot of victims, not find out crime-tricks. In some way, it is natural for him to failure, because space of 〈Ma-In〉 is made up transcendental cognition.
