This aim of article is to reveal the boundary between Murye and Bulson. Murye is provided the words and behaviors which threat individual·social face and relations, and Korean interactants perform Murye innocently or maliciously. This (un)intentional face threats can merely be judged through the situational·relational context of conversational interactants. In other words, korean interactants perceive Murye intentionally through the propositional attitudes(formal mechanisms), and in this sense intentional Murye is perceived as Bulson, unfixed categories. Bulson is based on the words and actions of Murye, and realized as a result of the addressee`s subjective judgement and emotional effects through the exchange of continuous utterances. Mechanisms differentiate Bulson from Murye present as follow : cling to previous negative situations and emotions, acting against expected values, not demonstrating social roles, violating the limit of emotions, not respecting or disregarding status.

The aim of this paper is to explain what allows the first NP in the dative subject construction to be marked with the nominative particle or the dative particle, respectively. At first, this paper classifies the dative subject construction in Korean into two sub-constructions such as "the psych adjective construction" and "the possessive predicate construction" based on the theta-roles of the arguments and the lexical-semantic properties of the predicates in these two constructions. In the possessive predicate construction, the first NP can be marked with the dative particle because the theta-role of the first NP is "location" and the dative particle as another locative particle for the animate noun can occurs with the first NP. Furthermore, the first NP can be marked with the nominative particle because it is the subject in a clause. Unlike the possessive predicate construction, in the psych adjective construction, the first NP as the syntactic adjunct can occur with the dative particle which is the oblique particle. In addition, the first NP can be marked with the nominative particle because (i) the theta-role of this NP as "experiencer" is higher than the theta-role of the second NP as "stimulus" in the theta-role hierarchy in Korean, and so (ii) the first NP is easy to be interpreted as the subject. As a result, the case marking of the first NP in the dative subject construction is fully dependent on the theta-roles and the grammatical relations in Korean.

The purpose of this study are to observe the variation of vowel space on Daegu dialect through the Acoustics Phonetics by using speech style. Data have been collected from 53 informants by interviewing the subjects. In this interview, I used two different formats of speech style. One format was spontaneous speech and the other was reading speech style. After analyzing results of the interview, I measured the vowel formants by using the Praat program. Using the results, I analyzed the statistical analysis by informants` age, speech style and the vowel position of prosody units. As a results, there are differences in the informants by speech style. There were reducing vowel spaces in the reading speech style to the spontaneous speech style. When the vowel space is reduced the /a(ㅏ)/ raised, the /i(ㅣ)/ backed and /u(ㅜ)/ fronted. When the age category in the reading speech style is low the vowel space tends to expand. When the age category in the spontaneous speech style is not valid in the vowel space variation.

The purpose of this study was to discriminate heroines embodied in two Korean traditional novels, i.e. "Banghanlimjeon" and "Bujangyangmunrok" from each other, and find out possible implications of those heroines. "Banghanlimjeon" and "Bujangyangmunrok" are two of rare Korean traditional heroine novels where a major woman character appear as heroine. Incidentally, it is important to note that contrary to any major woman character in heroine novels as discussed previously, the heroines appearing in these two novels live as if they were man for their whole lifetime, but their conflicts with concubine were castrated, which was pointed out as a limitation of female solidarity by many academic literatures. A few things noticeable in "Banghanlimjeon" and "Bujangyangmunrok" are represented by change of costume into male clothes, steps to marriage and a sense of solidarity between women. Based on these three aspects, this study could compare "Banghanlimjeon" with "Bujangyangmunrok". As a result, the heroine of "Banghanlimjeon" decides to get married to same sex (woman), always puts on male clothes and lives the life of man all the way, so she fixed her own sexual identity as male and alienated her neighboring women. On the other hand, the heroine of "Bujangyangmunrok" forms a relationship of affection with same sex (woman) and decides to get married to man. She puts on male clothes routinely, but maintains her social activities. She reveals bisexuality owing to experiences in the life of both sexes (man and woman) and considers herself as a man. But she has a mind-set to understand the life of women and form a relationship of solidarity with women. These features varied depending on which orientation the heroine focused her own sexual identity upon, which she selected socially while rejecting her original sexual identity as endowed biologically. In the historical aspect of Korean traditional novel, it is concluded that the former has a strong nature of heroic novel, whereas the latter is characterized by a combination of heroic novel and family novel. And it is concluded that the differences in heroine between "Banghanlimjeon" and "Bujangyangmunrok" are attributed to addition of family novel to heroic novel in nature.

This paper analyzed the experiences of suffering from diseases, depicted by literary expression in the Korean Remedy Stories which are transmitted orally or included in books. As a result, I found that various human thought about the causes of diseases and the ways to cope with them in the stories. In the stories included in books, the narrator supported that the king could get over an epidemic thanks to divine protection, which shows the king`s moral legitimacy and divineness. The fact that the king had suffered from the same disease as the people did, contains very serious meaning. Because it can be expected that the king would willingly to do his best to assist his people suffering from the same pain as he had. Meanwhile, in the stories orally transmitted, kings are usually portrayed as very strange persons suffering from ridiculous diseases which can be cured with preposterous medicine or dirty things such as bugger, dead skin cell, horse-urine etc. This stories hint censure of the king regarded as a stranger by his subjects, because people used to suppose that king is a person widely different from themselves. For that reason, they could not feel real sympathy with the king suffering from illness, and rather to criticized him instead of showing compassion. On the other hand, it shows that the storyteller would criticize sharply the king`s political corruption exposed as a figurative form, disease. The Remedy Stories do not focus on the pain, feeling and desire of the patients suffering from disease. The narrators tell us the stories about the doctors or the family members to care their patients, insead of patients themselves. Consequently the patients` voices disappeared and patients are always alienated in the stories. We can not easily understand the patients` agony, because it is impossible to completely share or sympathize for the other`s physical pain. Especially, the male-narrators used to look at the female patient and her body from a sexual viewpoint. They always regarded the female patient`s body only as genital organs. In conclusion, it is found that the human primarily should suffer from the same pain as others in his lifetime. Even if it were so, the personal pain could not be properly shared with others, because it is absolutely private experiences.

This paper aims to read poems by Oh Jang-whan and Seo Jung-joo in terms of poetic ethics. Two Poets who belonged to, what we call, Sanegmyeongpa (생명파, the School of Life)), criticized colonial modernity through their aesthetical consciousness of decadence. However, there lied a decisive difference in their ways of returning hometown and of taking action against Japanese colonialism. It is the difference that ended their friendship, and they began to pursue their own perspectives in writing poems in the Liberating period. Oh Jang-whan`s poetic subject looked upon himself as an ethical adjudicator, and raised his firm voice of ethical judgement based upon rigid dichotomy of good and evil. Thus, his poetic subject represented the dominating class as an offender(or an enemy), and the dominated class as a victim. So, in Oh`s poetic vision, the victim`s resentment and revenge against the enemy are justified. Futhermore, his poetic subject tried to reveal the vision that the ethically complete subject turned into Sittichkeit, which would eventually be a socialist state. On the other hand, Seo Jung-joo could not be immune from his pro-Japanese past. However, he realized his desire for self-preservation by relying on men in power(nationalist camp), instead of being introspective towards internal morals. He showed interest in the discourse of Shilla(신라) as a nationalist ideology and summoned the aesthetics of ancient history to embroider the ideology. Especially, his ethics of devotion which was based upon nationalistic view of ethics, was ended in ethics of violence to justify one`s sacrifice and devotion as the indispensible for a national community. Oh Jang-whan`s and Seo Jung-joo`s poetry in the Liberation period show the ideological and aesthetical oppositions between the Left and the Right. One can find that these two poets assume a very radical difference regarding the ethical judgment. At the very core of the difference, there lies the problem of pro-Japanese action and its atonement, and recognition of the fundamentals for the "new country," or Sittlichkeit as such.

The writing, to Authors in novels of Lee Cheong-Jun, has a character of the ``Sacrificial Ritual``, rescue the society through the sacrifice of individual. The writing, as Pharmakos of ``Sacrificial Ritual``, is the contemplation of the literary theory of Lee Cheong-Jun on Practicability of the Author. The share of practicability given to Author is prophetical awakening to the circumstance of his time, and Pharmakos as of sacrificial resolution through the awakening. ``Sacrificial Ritual`` has dual significations. One is ``Sacrificial Ritual`` as of violence, expressed by Girard, to settle the public sentiment through innocent scape goat, as of collective selfishness of the society, and the other has the signification of savior of mankind by God sacrificing itself. Regardless of the time the sacrificial victim has its symptom, and ``Authoring incapable in writing``, in novels of Lee Cheong-Jun, are the existences of symptom of Pharmakos for ``Sacrificial Ritual``. In any community the existence in the most extreme position, such as ``Rich/Poor``, ``Successful one/Failed one``, ``High class/Low class`` and ``Beautiful one/Ugly one``, have symptom of scape goat. Those existences in extreme position stimulates psychologic violence of public. The other symptom of scape goat are foreigner, stranger and minority, opposition of majority. As they are not a member of community, they are not capable to revenge even though sacrificed. The symptom of scape goat, in novels of Lee Cheong-Jun, is either disabled one or an alienated ones like a stranger, not possible to dissolve into the community. So those are the one cannot resist or revenge though selected as a scape goat. Blind sister in ``Seopyunje``, disabled, limping Alami in ``Worm Story``, squint-eyed sister in ``Pregnant Man``, those are physically deficient ones. The other types are disadvantaged ones and frustrated ones from both practical and ideal worlds, such as authoring, singer trying to keep arts, master craftsman. Thus the writing for Lee Cheong-Jun has a dual signification of ``Sacrificial Ritual`` from collective violence and from fatal selection of sacrificing oneself to save the community. Therefore the signification of writing in ``Sacrificial Ritual`` is to understand the tragic reality, Writer, a stranger from his own community, should be a scape goat under collective violence, and also to select a fate of Pharmakos as a share of practical writing to save public from violent reality. In this study these two significations have brought together in general as the signification of writing as of ``Sacrificial Ritual``, and it has been contemplated through repeating and variating motif in narration.

In this paper, Concretely, it tries to talk that it considers about the Subject and Method of Creation in theories about Peasant Literature of ``Chosun Nongminsa`` and ``KAPF``. And these relate closely because of giving the peasant poetry for example. As to ``Chosun Nongminsa`` Peasant Literary Theory at first, the Subject of the Creation was the intellectual literary man. At the time of 1920`s in the above Illiteracy Rate 80% the thing of thought is no problem. After ``Chosun Nongminsa`` is recognized admitting the intellectual literary man or peasant. Afterward it admits only the peasant as the Subject of Creation in the Peasant Poetry. On the other hand, the ``KAPF`` Peasant Literary Theory did firstly the intellectual literary man about Subject of Creation and had to guide the peasant writer. Heo Munil who was the peasant as the Subject of Creation that did the creative activity around ``Chosun Nongminsa``. In the creating Method, it used the daily life poetic language of the peasant. It used the honorific ending sentence expressing the feeling of solidarity with peasant was used. And the early stage modern poetry form was accommodated and the form of (Dansi) in which 1 stanza of 1 line becomes one poem as the form of free verse was shown. On the other hand, Park Aji was the ``KAPF`` member and the intellectual literary man as the Subject of Creation. He was firstly injected the ideology injection by the Method of Creation. and he was used the ideological poetic language and the end of a sentence expressing the leadership was used. He was the form of free verse showing the literary accomplishments of the intellectual accommodated and he was it can deliver the ideology well it showed the form series of poetry(Yeonjaksi) shown. Therefore, we could know from the Peasant Poetry of the peasant poet Heo Munil and intellectual poet Park Aji to be changed according to the Subject of Creation till Method of Creation. The Subject and Methods of Creation have been continuing as two kind of tendency into the contemporarily reality-oriented poetry. This can do in being the importance of the this paper.
