직장 내 회의의 갈등 유발 요인 탐색

The main purpose of this study is to locate factors of conflict-inducing communication and discuss the critical factors influencing the success and failure of workplace meetings in Korea. A questionnaire survey was administered to 326 office workers to find out conflict-triggering situations in interaction and communication activities based on perceptions of past experience. An exploratory factor analysis was conducted with the data collected through the questionnaire survey. The study comes to the conclusion that there are two main conflict-inducing factors, `a lack of openness in communication` and `a lack of meeting skills`, in Korean workplace meetings. The study provides ideas, for future studies on approaching conflict-triggering situations in interaction and communication activities of participants in meetings. The result of the study sheds some light on how to ensure effective and successful meetings at the workplace.

국어 대화전략 교육의 상위화용적 내용 연구 - 비선호적 반응 발화의 대화 구성을 중심으로 -

The purpose of this study is to investigate an effective structure for Korean language educational contents targeting conversational strategy. To this end, this study examined the concept of conversational strategy and organized the learning elements based on metapragmatic knowledge and activity. The structure was analyzed on the three aspects of contextualization cues, convention context, and principles of interaction. Further, this study re-confirmed the necessity for metapragmatic educational content of conversational strategy by examining its educational problem, which is realized in non-preferable response utterance. The non-preferable response utterance thus becomes an effective dialogue model that allows us to look into the principle of interaction associated with the context, in which strategy use becomes a convention in dialogue, self-expression, and self-management. In conclusion, this study presents cases of metapragmatic content structure for conversational strategy by reconstituting the dialogue unit of an elementary school Korean textbook.

군댓말 `(-지) 말입니다`의 의미기능 및 대체 양상

A discourse community is a group that shares language usage including its traits. As a discourse community, military organizations present unique language forms of their own. In this paper, we explain this particulare linguistic phenomenon and the reason that members of the military use `malipnida` frequently. In other words, this paper aims to present research on the time, in any situation, with any intention for usage, that `malipnida` is selected. Analysis of the research data shows that semantic functions of `malipnida` can be largely categorized into five areas. As a polite expression, `malipnida` is relate to socio-cultural traits of military society closely, and it is used to avoid threats to social standing of upper-class members. In most cases, they realize these intentions through haeyoche(해요체) but in the military they implicitly restrict the use of these expressions. By the way, use of `malipnida` in the military is undergoing a change because of the effect of the policy responses for the suppression its use. Members of the military choose various expressions in the place of `malipnida` to comunnnicate politeness in a variety of ways.

This paper discusses difficulty factors affecting learners` listening. Regarding Korean education, we could evaluate a learner`s listening proficiency only by spoken questions. Consequently, many studies are biased towards listening to questions; and detailed studies about listening processes instead of results, and passage comprehension instead of question comprehension, could not be successful. Hence, we focused on listening processes and passage comprehension, and analyzed learners` living body singles instead of answers. We found that learners` attention and tension levels affected their listening proficiency. Also, the more spoken the language, the easier to understand. Unfamiliar and detailed information was more difficult to listen, but passage`s length had no significant effect. Additionally, if learner`s topic familiarly was high, response was active; otherwise it was passive. Based on these results, this paper suggests how to organize listening passages to improve learners` proficiency.
1
