한국속담의 일반성과 특수성 -비교를 통한 한국 속담의 특성

This study aims at exploring universality and particularity in Korean proverbs. First of all, the universal traits were classified in terms of form, content, and rhetoric. It is revealed that Korean proverbs contain formal characteristics such as shortness, meter, syntactic features. As for subject Korean proverbs are found to hold salt or popularity, and in the meantime to exploit analogy and antithesis for rhetorical purpose. The distinctiveness in Korean proverbs turns out to entail ``double sttuctures of spoken language and Chinese characters``, ``social, geographical, historical, and cultural aspects of Korea``, ``reflections of Korean folk-tales and literature``, ``applications of Korean vulgar beliefs``, or ``Chinese settings``. Based on the analysis, the researcher concludes thar Korean proverbs possess common characteristics which ordinary maxims share, while implicitly show their peculiarity.

This research investigates the adjustment process of ``1,800 Basic Chinese Characters for Educational Purpose`` and suggests future pathway which Chinese Character education can proceed. The modification was made based upon a series of efforts such as composing advisory committee, conducting background research, holding a public hearing, organizing conciliation committee, collecting general opinions, and confirming the plan. By scrutinizing the procedure, this study proposes ways to upgrade Chinese Character education categorizing macroscopic and microscopic improvement. Moreover, it highlights the need to expand the sphere of Chinese Character education with help of ``renovation of its stams in line with current trends``, ``continuous research on academic and practical levels``, ``scientific study about the availability of Chinese Character education in elementary schools``, and ``establishment of the typical translation and sounds of 1,800 characters``.

언어 불통의 진단과 소통의 방법

The irony is that media and instruments of communication for a human society develop flashily, but a lot of conflict and difficulry of communication are just inversely deepened. Korea has a lot of political and economical problems, tension between South Korea and North Korea, socio-economic stratum problems, generation gap, gender discrimination, labor management conflicts, and an increase of foreign immigrants. Korean linguistics and literature as humane studies of communication and liberal arts should have a sense of responsibiliry for the miscommunication and misunderstanding in Korea. Korean language education also should make great efforts to cure them. The causes of these miscommunication and misunderstanding can be diagnosed by communication study, speech science, anthropology, ethnography, speech act theory, applied linguistics, rhetoric studies, and intercultural studies. The miscommunication of Korean sociery has been affected by ideological quarrel, authoritative organizational cultures, unilateral communication, and immature culture of discussion. We should try to enhance of speech manners, artentive hearing, a culture of discussion without authoritarianism, and communiry spirit of anti-ideology. It also needs to promote the literacy of the people, sino-chinese characters education, prohibition on discrimination, and brevity of official language by the realization of the spirit of King Sejong who looked for the ideal language policy based on the spirit of independence, love for the people, and practicality.

The purpose of the study is to reconceptualize basic competency of Korean language arts for non-Korean-born juveniles (focussing middle school age, 12-16) with multicultural backgrounds. I investigated "Lebenswelt (life-world)" of non-Koreanborn juveniles with multicultural backgrounds based on archival research, survey data, participation observation, and a semi-structured interview focusing on basic competency of Korean language arts and how respondents study Korean language arts. Based on an analysis of these data, I reconceptualize basic competency of Korean language arts, emphasizing the ``attitude of Korean language use`` to non-Korean-born juveniles with multicultural backgrounds.

The purpose of this study is to find a way to read the fantasy discourse in literature. Fantasy is a significant feature in classic literature. But in the classic literature education area, fantasy is not so much considered. To read the classic literature texts more deeply, fantasy sources represented in those texts need to be considered. Thus, this study focuses on Nam Yi (i¥i``I``i1) tales while taking note of the revengeful spirit motif that is a fantasy source in the text in trying to read fantasy discourse. Under the result of reading, Fantasy discourse reading method was made up. Nam Yi is a person who lived during the Cho-sun Dynasty and was killed due to a treason plot. Oral folk tales on Nam-Yi have 23 versions divided into two types (birth tales and marriage tales). In this research focusing mainly on Nam Yi birth tales, the fantasy discourse analyzed. The fantasy discourse reading procedure is as follows: 1. find the differences between fantasy and real events, 2. find the relations between narrative units, 3. compare other discourse. Under this result, suggest a reading procedure like "deducing" and "comparing" as the methods of fantasy discourse reading. Reading fantasy discourse can make it possible to understand literature texts more delicately and understand life in those texts more abundantly.

중국인 한국어 학습자의 어휘력 신장을 위한 한자어 교수법 연구

In this paper, beased on the input and output hypothesis, characteristics of the Korean and Chinese homgarphs, the two faces of Sino-Korean Word`s teching method which from the Sino-Korean Word`s input and output are dicussed. To strengthening the conprehension of the Sino-Korean Word`s forms(pronuncuation, Korean morpheme, Chinese morpheme) by Focus On FormS` Teaching Method, the Corresponding and morphology are important teaching contents; And in the discussion on the Sino-Korean Word`s Semantics teaching by the Focus On Form`s Teaching Method, by comparing the Sino-Korean Word`s semantic types and finding the meaning relations of collocations between Koran Sino-Korean Words and corresponding Chinese words. The exercise activities above can strengthen the Sino-Korean word`s comprehensible input and out competence of Chinese learners.

I took up "the etymology languages" as one item of the Korean education of language and culture. I considered effective education technique using the etymology languages. Educational object is the Japanese speakers learning Korean as a foreign language. The etymology languages are the good learning item which can grasp the linguistic and cultural feature of both Korean and the leamer``s mother tongue. In education using the etymology, it``s important to secure objectivity and the reliability. But when the private etymology is judged to be effective in education, it``s necessary to take in. The self-controlled attitude of teachers who try to consider a lot of etymology opinions is also necessary. Teachers should take notice of the selection of the etymology languages which leamers have the interest in Korean language and culture. Teachers should also have wide insight about the feature of languages and cultures seen by Korean and leamer``s mother tongue. In this paper, I considered education technique using some etymology languages which show "the human relations". It``s necessary to elucidate the etymology in the various fields of the history or the folk customs and develop effective education technique.
