The current Jeju dialect holds the tone patterns of Middle Korean monosyllabic nouns phonetically. High tone, low tone, and rising tone of Middle Korean have been changed into low pattern, high pattern, and low pattern of Jeju accent. In this respect, the tone change goes along with Kyungsang dialect of Korea. But the change doesnot imply the phonological distinctive features, but the phonetic cues. The tone patterns have some influences on vowel duration and duration to the highest F0 peak. In other words, monosyllabic nouns with the rising MK tones represent the longest duration, while the low tones show the shortest duration. This means that the phonological tone patterns change into the phonetic accent. In this way, we can find some weak relationship between Jeju Korean and Middle Korean.

It is not necessary to use the word, ``creation`` by restricting to myth formed in the beginning of mental development history of human race. Creation means to be conscious of world by appearance of consciousness. Creation not only is a psychological fact of appearance and acquirement of consciousness of a group but also discovery of a new world. Among ceremonies of Jejudo Gut, ``Bepodoupchim`` of Chogamje, or invitation of god can be archaic myth of creation myth. Although it was modified according to transmission will of transmission group, archetype can be assumed through myth element. ``Bepodoupchim`` expresses the Creation of Heaven and Earth, all beings in the universe and human, birth of things, creation of the universe which controls world with two suns and two moons in detail. It seems that this means to recognize the process of separation and division, and to express appearance of consciousness over unconsciousness in the midst of whole human spirit. This study figured out that ``Bepodoupchim`` has a strong character of creation myth rather than ``Chunjiwangbonpuri``, ``Bepodoupchim`` is archaic myth. And this study tried to see this from the view of analytic psychology. There are some methods to study Jeju myth. This is also only a trial where various methodologies were used. It would be not reasonable to define character of overall Jeju myhts by only one myth. Afterward, further study with various and many myths would be continued for more complete character of creation myth of Jeju shamanism myth.

In the late Japanese colonial period, Jung Ji-young opened up the field of poetry criticism as a managing editor of poetry part in 「MunJang」. From this time, he emphasized Theory of Oriental Painting as well as the method of a Confucian classic. These styles were reflected into 「BakRokDam」, which is a masterpiece of landscape poetry. For example, in 「JangSuSan·1」, 「JangSuSan·2」, ``white light`` was coincided with the flow of Tao. ``Stone`` and ``water`` corresponded to strong will and the pedigree of national characteristic. Topic was also related to these styles. In addition, it was an example of the roundabout writing because it was against the Japanese colonial authority. To understand this poem, the subject concept of modern times get through while considering three dimensional space viewing of the Oriental paiting and verbal thinking of the East Asia. In this area of Landscape Poetry, Gi-centered theory was founded, since Jung Inbo, Kangwha school, might be effected on the works of Jung Jiyoung. Further detailed research will discuss about the relationships with Jung Inbo.

This paper is planned to discuss children`s literary works by Kim Hae-gang, which have never been reviewed to date. Kim Hae-gang was a poet who had been active throughout his life since he began writing in 1920. Although he was a poet, he wrote children`s poems expressing sorrow for the reality in which children of the colony lived. His works belonged to children`s literature in the proletarian group, which haven`t been discussed seriously as of yet. In this regard, he is a poet who enables us to confirm the early appearance of a Korean children`s literature history. Kim Hae-gang presented his children`s poems mainly in 「Byeolnara」 and 「Sinsonyeon」. He had close friendships with the editors of the magazines; thus, he exchanged letters while expressing resentments about colonial conditions. Also, he maintained a close relationship by the medium of the sense of kinship in terms of their status in engaging in the same teaching job. He presented poems reflecting a strongly critical propensity concerning reality from the time he started his literary career; yet, he wrote children`s poems based on the innocence of childhood. He named the innocence of childhood ``the nation of pure love``, and adopted a strategy of detouring reality unlike other poems. Thanks to that, his children`s poems were able to ensure lyricism compared to works by poets in the KAPF group, who personally had a close relationship with him. Instead of directly coping with the ordinary life of poor colonial reality, he considered the objectivity of children`s poems and tried to propose the hope of the future by fully utilizing formal characteristics. That was concretized primarily by the emergence of the image of the sun, and this stemmed from his faith in maintaining coherence in a topic through the extension of an image found here and there in poetic works.

This study proposes to examine the problems of modern poetry teaching-learning currently practiced in high schools and develop the teaching-learning methods in the area especially focusing on the revised high school curriculum. The study has three main points of discussion - the problems of modern poetry teaching-learning process, the educational goals we must pursue in the process and finally the exploration into better ways to improve the activities of modern poetry teaching-learning. First of all, we see some problems because of teachers` stereotyped ways of teaching. Others may come from teacher-centered appreciation of poetry. And others may be produced by poetry teaching contents for related tests. In order to address these problems, teachers should not show just their own knowledge of poetry text or their ways of appreciating poems. As a reader, they must should interact with students emotionally in reading poems and arrive at sharing as many values as possible. Also, in the class of modern poetry, teachers try to think deeply about what they teach, why they teach something like poetry and how they teach something. That is because we must aim at literary education(the education of modern poetry) in our targeted teaching-learning process. Why literature, a key element of culture, must be educated has something to do with cultural background of each literary work and society which produced it. On the other hand, we must choose text poems which is usefully taught. In addition, they must imply community consciousness as well as social and cultural identity. Specifically speaking, we ask ourselves these questions. Firstly, can learners have deep interest in poetry they are learning? Secondly. can main points in each teaching-learning process be easily grasped in related poem`s theme? Thirdly, does the poem embody our life vividly? Finally, can learners recognize social and cultural identity after they appreciate and rearrange the poem? Of course, teachers ought to avoid giving their knowledge one-sidedly to their especially in teaching modern poetry. Instead, teachers help their students understand literary works with open minds and get literary and creative insight into society. When modern poetry teaching-learning in high school classrooms meets with the standards claimed in this study, ultimately it can approach the aims of literary education in recently revised curriculum, which says "Based upon the proper understanding of literature and wide experiences, students are able to read and create literary works. Furthermore they can arrive at self-realization, contributing to the development of their community.``

The first record on Man-deok is found in the texts of 「Seungjeongwonilgi」 and 「Ilseongrok」. Later, Chae Jae-gong wrote 「Mandeokjeon」 and gave it to Man-deok, and as a result, the full story of Man-deok was created. The first ``Man-deok Story`` was created with the object of praising her life, but over the lapse of time, the focus of the story was moved to the effort of a person named ``Man-deok`` to overcome her social standing as a ``gisaeng.`` This is closely linked to the historical situation in those days. In the Chosun Dynasty that was a stratified society, it was almost impossible to overcome the barrier between classes. In this situation, Man-deok`s story, which overturned the common idea, was naturally interesting to the ruled class. King Jeongjo spread the story widely and utilized it actively as a tool of his governing. The focus of interest in Man-deok`s story was ``the relief of starved people`` at the beginning but was moved to ``social mobility,`` and recently, people`s interest has been changed to Man-deok`s business talents. This reflects today`s trend sensitive to ``economy.`` In this way, Man-deok`s story is changing in response to historical situation. Fortunately, Jeju Special Self-governing Province is making various efforts to spread Kim Man-deok`s story mainly through the Kim Man-deok Memorial Foundation. As evidenced by the failure of KBS Drama , however, it is hard to create an excellent work from fictions having a shabby story structure based on Kim Man-deok`s accomplishments or acts. It is because such fictions do not reproduce elaborately Kim Man-deok in Jeju during her days, Kim Man-deok in the historical situation of the early 18th century, and human Kim Man-deok. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary for relevant organizations or institutions to have Man-deok`s story restructured by a writer highly recognized by people. Not to mention 「Sangdo」 and 「Haesin」 written by Choi In-ho, there are many cases that highly popular original works were reproduced successfully into media. Thus, we need to start new discussions on desirable directions for the storytelling of Man-deok`s story in a way of appealing to people.
