교양 한국어 이러닝 콘텐츠 개발 방안 -UST 한국어 초급 과정을 중심으로-

This study was aimed at developing an online Korean course for graduate school students of UST(University of Science and Technology) and suggesting the direction for contents of an e-learning Korean course. This study was mainly focused on development of a distinguished educational course after making the best use of the characteristics of online education and also on distinctiveness as a Korean course for general education course in Korean universities. The result of the survey about demand of learners showed that the learners wanted to study Korean in daily situations, such as in school, office, for shopping or ordering food. They also needed a chance to check what they have learnt through different examples of listening and speaking as well as through online content tests. Based on the demand, the study designed the curriculum of two courses; Basic Korean 1 and Basic Korean 2 with 30 chapters each. This program contains daily Korean topics and different contents on academic Korean. Each chapter consists of ‘beginning’, ‘learning’, ‘evaluation’ and ’organization’. It provides sufficient incremental learning by situational category. The study expects to be applied for the development of a customized Korean e-learning course reflecting the learner’s demand. 일본인 한국어 학습자의 피사동주 격 표지 습득 양상 연구

The aim of the study is to investigate the causee case marking by Japanese L1 learners of Korean. Twenty Korean native speakers (NK) and 54 Japanese L1 learners participated (24 high level learners, HL and 30 low level learners, LL). The task was acceptability judgment task composed of 48 causative sentences. Linguistic contexts of sentences were divided by verb transitivity (transitive causation and intransitive) and type of causation (syntactic and morphological). The types of case marking were nominative, accusative, and dative. The result showed proficiency variability among LL and HL. LL showed different acceptability judgment from NK by taking permissive attitude in ungrammatical nominative and dative case marking contexts. Their L2 responses were not fully reflecting their L1 norm nor exhibiting target language-like norm. This indicates that L1 is not the fundamental resources of lower level L2ers when they face poverty of stimuli. They continue to test interlanguage hypothesis by keeping themselves open to L1 and L2 phenomenon. HL's acceptability judgment was not significantly different from both of NK and LL which indicated that they were in the middle of acquiring Korean causee marking even when they had arrived at the advanced level of Korean proficiency. This implies that explicit instruction on causee marking needs to be provided in L2 Korean classroom. (Ewha Womans University)

한국어 공손성 연구의 쟁점 -선행연구 분석을 중심으로-

This paper is an attempt to analyze the current trends and issues in Korean politeness. Two main analyses are performed in this research, i.e., studies about Korean politeness expression and practical education of politeness focusing on aspect of pragmatics since 2000. Researches about Korean politeness expression is the most studied, this part can be grouped by two types again, i.e., politeness expression between Korean and other language, Korean politeness studies. The results of the analyses of politeness studies are founded that Korean politeness studies increased rapidly since 2010, and need to be studied the more clarified Korean politeness definition and category. So this study suggested the definition and category of Korean general politeness, theoretical politeness, politeness expression. Furthermore, necessity of politeness on relative viewpoints, politeness education in culture. This means that Korean politeness in the view of Korean sociocultural background and worth need to be studied in depth. (Yonsei University)

Korean language education has now disseminated worldwide; as a result, it is necessary to establish an evaluation and accreditation system for Korean language institutes to facilitate quality management of these institutes. This study, therefore, comparatively analyzed overseas evaluation and accreditation systems for language education, and drew a plan for an evaluation and accreditation system for Korean language institutes that corresponds to the Korean context. For the comparative analysis, this study first conducted a thorough literature review concerning the evaluation and accreditation systems and standards of both Korean and overseas language institutes, and extensively examined elements for comparison. Based on the examination, an institutional approach was taken for further examination. CEA, Eaquals, and ACCJC agencies were selected among representative overseas language education evaluation and accreditation organizations, and the evaluation standards suggested by these three organizations were examined. A comprehensive review on the evaluation systems of overseas language education evaluation organizations is highly valuable as it consolidates the foundation for establishing a future evaluation and accreditation system for Korean language institutes. Finally, the study summarized the evaluation standards of the three organizations discussed, and suggested requirements for short-, mid-, and long-term goals to realize the plan for an evaluation and accreditation system for Korean language institutes.(Pyeongtaek University)

일본인 학습자 대상의 한국어 조사 사용 및 오류 양상 연구

This study aims to analyze Korean particles usage and errors of native Japanese intermediate and advanced learners, and to suggest effective reference data of errors of them that is of help to prevent these errors. This paper is divided five chapters. Chapter one introduces the present condition of an absence of research on analyzing errors in spoken language in Korean language education, and also mentions a purpose of this study. Chapter two examines a general tendency to advanced studies on error analysis, and chapter three explains the subject and the method of this study. Chapter four shows aspects of Korean particles usage and errors by between Japanese intermediate and advanced learners. Chapter five argues the conclusion and limitations of this study. The main point of research result is as follows. Particles errors that are mainly occurred in Korean spoken language by Japanese learners, are ‘이/가’, ‘을/를’, ‘(으)로’, ‘에게’, ‘한테’, ‘에’, ‘에서’, ‘(이)나’, ‘은/는’ and ‘도. Each error rate of ‘이/가’, ‘을/를’, ‘(으)로’, ‘에게’, ‘한테’ and ‘(이)나’ is decreased by going up the learning level. On the other hand, each error rate of ‘에’, ‘에서’, ‘은/는’ and ‘도’ remain as it is, or increased by going up the learning level. However, this study left much to be desired that there was no statistically significant difference in the result. (Namseoul University)

중국인 한국어 학습자를 위한 한국어 접미사 사동과 중국어 사동의 대조연구

This study examined, clarified and interpreted the reasons behind the various correspondence patterns of Korean causative suffixes and Chinese causative forms by analyzing a parallel corpus of drama. First, the case-frames of the Korean causative suffixes were analyzed and categorized according to whether their roots were automatic, transitive or adjective. Subsequently, it was discovered that the corresponding Chinese causative form could be determined by the root of the Korean causative suffix. This means there is a close relationship between the root of the Korean causative suffix and the meaning of the Chinese causative forms, ‘讓, 叫, 給,把'. Finally, corresponding Chinese causative forms differ according to the case-frames of the Korean causative suffixes. According to the results of this study, it was found that there are certain patterns between the root type and case-frames of Korean causative suffixes and their corresponding Chinese causative forms. The result of this study will help Chinese Learners of Korean to identify whether a particular Korean suffix is causative or passive. This results of this study will also be useful for translating and communicating complicated Koran suffixes to Chinese learners.(Wenzhou University)

This article aims to investigate the current states of Korean language education in Japan for the purpose of intercultural exchange, with the focus on the affinity and the value of Korean and the Intercultural Exchange. It differentiates itself from previous studies, by targeting the learner groups that have not been received much attention in quantitative research paradigm. The observation on the meaning of intercultural exchange and Korean is first made, and then it moves to the general outlines of the Korean language courses provided by JET(The Japan Exchange and Teaching) programme and the Japanese local governments. Research methods and procedures are specified up next, and the current states of Korean education in Japan for the purpose of intercultural exchange are presented. Qualitative analysis of the data revealed that the Korean language courses could be categorized into five types based on the learners’ motivation: (1) Korean for regional promotion and tourist reception, (2) Korean as a foreign language or Korean for continuing education, (3) Korean for practical use such as travel and personal interaction, (4) Korean for understanding international relations and multicultural society. For each type, concrete cases are given. Learners of Korean in the courses funded by Japanese government are found to be sharing the following characters. First, they were highly self-motivated and sought opportunities for the target language exposure, especially when Korean is not a means of surviving or earning a living. Second, their effort to be in contact with the target language and the culture was intermittent but consistent, in informal institutions rather than formal ones. Third, the learners were far from being homogeneous, ranging in age from mid-teens to seniors and varying in occupation as well. As such, this article takes explorative approach and sheds a new light on the current states of Korean language education overseas.(Anyang University)

‘말하기 연구’의 경향과 특징 -1958년∼2014년까지 국내 학술지 논문 분석-

The aim of this study was to look at the trends and features of the ‘speaking’ studies over the decades in Korea. For this purpose, we analysed the 383 speaking-related papers published in academic journals of 147 species focusing on the related topics such as speaking, presentation, addressing speech, and speech etc. We first analyzed how the speaking researches have been done and how the trends and characteristic of the speaking papers were appeared. The results were summarized as follow. First, the speaking research was one of the highfrequent research topics in various academic fields. Second, the speaking researches were conducted most actively in the Korean Language and Literature field. Then the researches of Pedagogy and Humanities were followed. Third, the most common topic the authors preferred to study was the certain type of speaking like speech or address performed in public, and it was most commonly content analyzed. The reason of this tendency was the usefulness of analysis using the texts without considering the complexity of communication contexts. Fourth, it was noticed that many studies were conducted in the school-based context. Schools are the places to easily collect the data and students are the useful sources to approach. It can be acceptable, but it could have the limit of generalization due to the specific context of school. Future studies need to be carried out considering the changing communication contexts such as audiences’ situation, time and space related discourses, and uniqueness of medium including SNS, online etc. (Dankook University)

베트남 유학생 유치의 효율적 방안

Recent years, one of the biggest features of the Korean language education field is the diversification of the Korean language learners. The Chinese students, who have been possessing about 60 percent of the whole foreign students since 2000, were decreasing continuously between the year of 2012 to 2015. Besides, during this period the Vietnamese students have been increasing rapidly. This has a great influence in the field of Korean language education. Therefore, for the Korean language education experts, it required to provide a stable and effective Korean language education to the Vietnamese students and make them possible to achieve their goals through studying in Korea. ‘Learner-centeredness’ is the most important for successful education to Vietnamese students. In this paper, I will observe the environmental factors that are related to the flow of the Vietnamese students from the above-mentioned background. I carried out a questionnaire survey analysis targeting Vietnamese students in Korea for two years(2015 and 2016). The number of Vietnamese students is 123 in 2015 and 106 in 2016. I analyzed Vietnamese students’ needs for making better studying and living conditions for Vietnamese students’ in Korea. Following to this, I suggested some ways to maintain attracting Vietnamese students into Korea from the base of the survey’s results. (Sangmyung University)
