일본어 모어 화자의 정도부사의 사용과 오류 양상 -“아주, 너무”를 중심으로-

The aim of this paper is to analyze the erroneous phenomena of Korean degree adverb, and to present a method of teaching of degree adverb for the intermediate Japanese learners of Korean. We examine Korean degree adverbs `aju` and `neomu` which have high frequencies in the corpus of Japanese learners of Korean, and then discern the erroneous phenomena in the view of local error and global error. Through this analysis, it is found those errors have a deep relationship with Context of Learning. Consequently, this results would be useful to teach the distinctive characteristics of `aju, neomu, maeu, deige` which are based on the co-occurrent relationship of degree adverb and adjective. This paper considers that content knowledge plays an important role in producing an academic text and aims to suggest a method in which Korean language learners in an academic context can build content knowledge and effectively produce an academic text. Existing knowledge of learners, intertextual knowledge gained through activities with other learners and from related texts, and knowledge obtained from the incorporation or restructuralization of intertextual knowledges or between existing knowledge and newly acquired knowledge are included in content knowledge. This paper suggests the methods of teaching Korean writing to build content knowledge, as follows. Firstly, by giving couple of authentic texts that can help learners do their writing tasks, learners can obtain intertextual knowledge needed for their writings. Secondly, by promoting interaction between teacher and learner, and among learners during the whole writing process, learners can constitute knowledge through oral communication. Lastly, through practices such as selecting and sorting, incorporating and structuralizing acquired informations, students can have knowledge-incorporated knowledge. (Korea University)

The purpose of this article is to suggest a proper and systematic way of dealing with the Korean embedded sentences in the Korean teaching context as a foreign language. As the number of advanced Korean learners who have a special purpose of learning Korean is increasing, the demand for the language ability that is needed in research and works in special areas is also increasing. To meet the demand, advanced Korean learners should be able to utilize various types of Korean sentences in order to express their thoughts in more detail. From this point of view, the connective sentences and the embedded sentences could be helpful for the learners-in this paper, the embedded sentences will be discussed. At first, the definition and types of embedded sentences that is used in Korean study will be dealt with, and then how they could also be defined in the Korean teaching context as a foreign language will be explored. In addition, based on this search, this article also states how the embedded sentences are introduced in Korean teaching and learning materials. In fact, according to the result of this study, there seems to be few chances the learners to learn and practice the embedded sentences intensively. Therefore, this article lastly stresses the importance of well-structured teaching about the embedded sentences, and suggests a method of teaching the embedded sentences. (Korea University)

The purpose of this study is to explore the integrity and the individuality between Korean Language Education as national language and Korean Language Education as foreign language. The integrity is based on the universality of educational aspect. Otherwise, the individuality is based on the specificity of a field of study. It is very difficult for each researcher to define clearly what Korean Language Education is. But we can draw a blueprint about the connection between two field of study. They can interact each other in the point of view of the domain of research and the study around them. And they can be compatible with the other in the point of view of the legal basis, the learner, the teacher, and the curriculum. (The National Institute of the Korean Language)

This study aims to suggest a plan for the development of teaching materials on culture focusing on experience-centered teaching of Korean. In Korean education, culture education is essential for learning the language. Culture education has an effect on improving communication skills of learners, however to this day full-blown and positive education has not been carried out yet. On top of that, previous teaching materials of the Korean culture have focused on general topics of cultural education which introduce the characteristics or contents of the Korean culture, as oppose to providing cultural field experience to help enhance communication skills. Therefore, the study propose field experiences so as to help learners of Korean have a better understanding of the Korean culture and thereby improve their Korean proficiency, emphasized the need to include more cultural field experiences in teaching materials of culture education in the future. Also finally present practical materials and examples including field experience tasks. (Korea University)

This thesis aims to discuss the language policy in the multicultural period in Korea. The Multicultural Age refers to the period since the 1990`s, when the number of foreign workers and international marriage between Korean men and foreign women increased dramatically. The Korean government and several private organizations planned many projects to protect the language and culture of various foreigners who came to work or live in Korea, for example programs concerned with multilingual broadcasting, communication, education, and documents. The Korean language policy for settlers is very similar to Liberal multiculturalism. Multiculturalism language policy must focus not only on foreigners but also on young Korean students who studied abroad, since their communication competence in Korean is inferior to that of other students. In addition, because the use of Roman alphabet in mass media has increased, people who are not fluent in English, including many immigrants, are unable to get the necessary information they need. I propose that we tighten the existing act which requires all outdoor advertisements to include Hangeul. The fundamentals of the Korean Act(2005) states that Korean is the official language of Korea and Hangeul is the official character. This indicates that Korean and Hangeul are the means of communication in Korea. I believe that the new act that makes it mandatory for settlers to take Korean lessons is the most essential language policy. We have to develop effective teaching methods for foreigners to learn Korean. (Dongduk Women`s University)

There are two aims in this paper. Frist is to present the condition and prospect of Korean vocabulary education for foreigners through traditional teaching approach. Second is to find how to implement various approaches into Korean vocabulary education study. Vocabulary, in recent years, has assumed a more important role in second language acquisition, especially is influenced by the communicative approach, the lexical approach, and the development of corpus-linguistics. There is a need for review of current trends of vocabulary education studies in order to keep abreast of various studies. Six topics are discussed in this article: (1) vocabulary knowledge (2) explicit teaching and implicit learning vocabulary acquisition process and mental lexicon, (3) separating vocabulary, (4) multi-word chunks, (5) corpus, and (6) vocabulary learning strategies. Our study is of the collaborative output of students engaged in dictogloss task in a KFL context. Our key aims was to investigate the effect of focus of form work on task output processes. The main focus of this paper, however, makes clear whether modeling of metatalk by the teacher influences student`s use of metatalk. We also discuss the role of collaborative output in L2 development, particularly the use of metatalk. This study refined the framework of Language Related Episodes(LREs), and produced our taxonomy of episodes. This study suggested that demonstration of the metatalk that included the explicit statement of rules and the use of metalinguistic terminology succeeded to a greater extent in capturing students attention and focusing it their own language use. The purpose of the Korean language education is to elevate the Korean communication ability of learner who learns Korean. If ordinary people use particular expression in the spoken language, this expression must be reflected in the Korean language education. Although it is important that to hear, to understand and to speak function of normal expression, there is necessity that must know use of expression in the spoken language. This paper observes that ordinary people are using much `Neomu` and `-(Eu)n Geot Gatta` when express emotion in the spoken language. And this paper discusses how to reflect expression in teaching material for the Korean language education and class plan. There were a lot of occasions that `Neomu` is used as the adverb that is to means `Degree is high` than is to means `Degree exceeds`. And `-(Eu)n Geot Gatta` means a guess, but it is used more in emotion expression. To teach `Neomu` with other degree adverbs helps a comprehension of students and a teacher`s class progress about emotion expression in Korean. Also, It is effective to teach that `-(Eu)n Geot Gatta` can be used as a way to express emotion. (Chonnam National University)

This paper presents a study on developing the speech test tools for learners of Korean for Academic purpose. The purpose of this study is to suggest a sample of useful proficiency test tool sets for evaluating communicative competence of the learners of Korean who prepare to enter Korean colleges. The research is composed of 4 chapters. The first chapter presents the purpose this study. The second chapter focuses on the theoretical background of the study, especially on the content and the assessment categories of the speech test tools, the task·function lists for academic purpose, and the proficiency level for studying in colleges. The third chapter is composed of three sub-chapters which show the assessment criteria, types of question forms for the speech test, and the samples of the test tool set. In the last chapter a brief summarization of this study is made and some suggestions are offered. (Yonsei University)
