용접전용기 사이클 타임 단축을 위한 6시그마 프로젝트

Since the six sigma strategy was first introduced to Motorola in 1987, it has been taken as an important business strategy to strengthen the competitiveness of leading companies in the global competitiveness environment. This thesis presents a six sigma project to reduce the cycle time of assembly line in a medium size automotive part company. The project follows a disciplined process of five macro phases: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. A CTQ is determined based on COPQ analysis, and a process map is utilized for identifying process input variables. Three KPIVs(key process input variables) are selected; tensile strength, width of welding bid, depth of welding bid, and DOE (design of experiments) is utilized for finding the optimal process conditions for three KPIVs. As a result of the project, the cycle time becomes 30 sec./unit from 56.3 sec./unit at the beginning of the project.

디스플레이 산업의 프레스 가공에서 Burr를 제거하기 위한 Six Sigma 방법론

Presented in the paper is a methodology to remove burrs from parts produced by press machines. Burrs of press parts can cause various problems such as the dimensional quality of the part and even the safety of operators. This paper employs the six sigma methodology to accomplish the objective, burr free products. To find the source of the burr, we identify seven potential factors; clearance, material properties, punch wear, skill levels of operators, champer difference of C & R type, vibration of C-type press, and lubrication oil. Through an extensive experiments, we extract three key factors; clearance, punch wear and champer difference of C & R type. For the three key factors, we propose an optimization method and the result is very positive.

In this study, a model with all-unit-discount freight cost format is suggested for single-vendor single-buyer integrated production-inventory problem when cargo capacity is constrained. With the cost function formulated, several properties of the model are derived and analyzed. An efficient algorithm to find solutions is suggested using properties derived. Numerical experiment is conducted to illustrate the proposed solution procedures and show the cost-effectiveness of the proposed model compared to existing ones.

The purpose of this study is an optimal layout planning of assembly space, considering production schedule for the LCD equipments manufacturing company. The company adopts the make to order policy to assemble the equipments in the clean-room considering optimal layout of assembly spaces and due dates of orders. Therefore, the objectives of this study are minimizing the sum of distance of each group, minimizing the total area of empty spaces and minimizing violations of schedule. Input data are the size of Clean-Room, due dates of orders and the size of ordered products. Output is an optimal assembly place allocation plan considering the production schedule. In this paper, we suggest a mathematical model for the problem with consideration of due dates of orders. Also we present an case study explaining suggested model.

High-performance concrete(HPC) is a new terminology used in concrete construction industry. Several studies have shown that concrete strength development is determined not only by the water-to-cement ratio but also influenced by the contents of other concrete ingredients. HPC is a highly complex material, so it is very difficult task to modeling its behavior. This research aimed to predict the compressive strength of HPC with multiple linear regression analysis. Mahalanobis Distance(MD) outlier detection method used for the purpose of detecting outlier and increase prediction ability of regression analysis. The detailed procedure of calculating Mahalanobis Distance (MD) is described. The effects of outlier compared with before and after at the multiple linear regression.

디스플레이산업 프레스 가공에서 Pooling불량 개선에 관한 연구 -기술 개방형 Six Sigma 방법론

This paper presents a methodology to improve quality of a display product produced by press machines. The presented methodology is focusing on the pooling problem, which shows a wave pattern on a display screen. To solve the pooling problem, the joint six sigma technique has been employed. To find the source of the wave pattern, we identify six potential factors; the box bending components, the pressure of pad spring, the blending angle, the stripper, the amount of chamfer, and different environment of production lines. For the six potential factors, we performed extensive experiments and analyzed the results by using statistical techniques. Through the analysis we extracted five key factors; the pressure of pad spring, the blending angle, the stripper, the amount of chamfer, and different environment of production lines. For each of the factors, we propose a remedy. As a result, the pooling problem has been solved and the quality of the product has been improved significantly.

중소기업 금형제조 공정에서의 설비배치에 관한 연구

Facility layout is one of main concerns of manufacturing companies that are trying to reduce production costs. Facility layout problems is not easy to solve due to complex manufacturing processes that should produce multiple products in a manufacturing company. This paper describes an example of systematic facility layout approach that was practically conducted for a medium and small enterprise. To make more efficient facility layout, first of all, a variety of analysis were conducted on the existing facilities such as facilities analysis and manufacturing process analysis and activity analysis. After that, two alternatives for efficient layout were developed using CORELAP software. Finally, one alternative was selected because the alternative could more reduce workers` moving distance than the other.

1000cc 경차의 운전좌석에 대한 체압분포의 분석 및 평가

The design of frontal driver seat cushion in 1000cc minicar is very important in economy sides and maintenance costs. The best design of driver seat cushion can prevent backache and work-related musculoskeletal disorder (WMSDs). Therefore, this paper proposes the analytical and systematical method to evaluate pressure distribution of frontal driver seat cushion in 1000cc minicar. In this paper, TACTILUS Mat-Type was used to measure the pressure distribution of frontal driver seat cushion and based on 9 healthy persons and 2 minicars. In the result of this paper, the pressure distribution of the back of seat between minicar A and minicar B was proved not suitable driver seat cushion through statistical testing. Finally, this paper will ergonomically provide decisive information for back design of the frontal driver seat cushion in 1000cc minicar.

This paper intends to search factor affecting the selection of financial products by analyzing whether there is difference in the preference of individual financial products whose recognition of importance in the property of financial products in different, depending on the property of investors. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to test the priority model. The study attempts to demonstrate how the model helps providing better decision choices in financial products.

This paper addresses the use planning of public distribution centers in a dynamic distribution system that consists of distribution centers and retailers. Public distribution centers are used as the distribution centers in a distribution system. In discrete and finite time periods, the demand of retailers is changed dynamically for the time periods. The use planing is to determine the locations, the time periods and the number of storage bin of public distribution centers to be used for the given time periods to minimize the total cost. Cost factors are fixed cost and variable cost for use of distribution centers, and transportation cost from the distribution centers to the retailers. A mathematical model is formulated and a genetic algorithm is developed. Numerical examples are shown.
