This paper addresses the retrieval batch size which the uni-directional carousel system can be feasible. The items that customers order are retrieved from the bins of the carousel with batch size. The mathematical model to obtain the rotary travel distance and the retrieval lead time for picking batch size in an uni-directional carousel system are formulated. The rotary travel distance is the distance which the carousel system rotates for retrieval of all items included in a batch. The retrieval lead time is the time interval from retrieval starting time to retrieval finishing time for retrieval of all items included in a batch. The retrieval batch size that carousel system can be feasible is obtained. A numerical example is shown to explain the solution procedure.

Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) provides an effective way for improving product design and process planning by prioritizing potential product and process failures so that preventive measures can be taken in early stages. However, one of the drawbacks of the FMEA is especially the risk priority number (RPN) as determined by multiplying the converted scores of the three predefined factors without considering their relative importance. This paper addresses a compromising measure to mix the existing two fuzzy AHP methods when the three factors with their relative importance should be considered and there are over 10 potential failure odes to be evaluated. A numerical example is shown to explain the procedures and to testify the applicability of the proposal.

Six sigma is a proven, successful methodology for solving business problems with customer focus and financial profits to the business. TRIZ (teoriya resheniya izobretatelskikh zadatch) is an effective method for analyzing customer needs and developing innovative solutions to meet customer needs. In this paper, fundamental concepts in six sigma and TRIZ are reviewed and applied to DAGEV (define-analyze-generate-evaluate-verify) of TRIZ and DMAIC (define- measure-analyze-improve-control) of six sigma. A sample problem, plastic goods, is used to demonstrate how TRIZ can be applied to a real world problem.

석탄광산 선탄장에서 작업 공정별 날림먼지의 특성

In this study, we carried out the experiment to identify the size and size distribution characteristics of dustp articles which are generated by the work process of coal preparation plant (hammer crusher, vibration screen, belt-conveyor and feeder). As a result, the dust, which has slow deposition velocity, is verified on average97.64% as the size less than 20㎛ of the particles from 0.5 to 100㎛ and the residence time in the air is long. In the dust collection design, the collection of dust less than 20㎛ is considered desirable and efficient in terms of the air environment or the human body`s damage, but whether the only respire able dust between the 0.5㎛~5㎛, which is the most harmful to the human body, will be collected, or the particles, the working environment in mind, will be collected, it gets up to each company`s choice to operate the coal preparation plant of the mine. These results are applicable to the facility`s design and construction as the basis documents.

외부자연풍이 종류식 도로터널의 환기특성에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구

In this study, the experiment for scale model of tunnel and the three-dimensional numerical simulation for real tunnel were performed to analyze the effect of natural wind on the resistance of ventilation in accordance with tunnel conditions (length, gradient and form of pit-head). The validity of the numerical simulation method was verified by the experiment of scale model. The three-dimensional numerical simulation for real tunnel led to the result that the average air velocity in tunnel was changed by length, gradient, form of pit-head. Therefore, the design standard for average air velocity in tunnel by natural wind has to be revised. At the design of tunnel ventilation, it is considered that it has to be applied to the purpose in accordance with tunnel condition.

위험 모드 실행 계획법을 활용한 위험 요소 관리에 관한 연구

The purpose of this paper is to study the management of product development considering expected risk factors during product development period. This study presents a conceptional framework that can be used to conduct risk management during product development period. Risk management is not a one-time task. Team should reevaluate the risk plan from time to time throughout the product development period. Four major steps to managing risk factors during product development period are proposed in this paper. Based on the failure odes effects and criticality analysis (FMECA) methodology, this study redeveloped a risk mode and action plan (RMAP) for managing risk factors in a systematic way.

3000cc급 승용차에서 운전좌석에 대한 체압분포의 평가

The appropriate design of frontal driver seat cushion by the distribution of the contact pressure evenly and reduction of the peak pressure and the high contact pressure area is very important in order to prevent accident and backache. This paper proposes the analytical method and statistical testing to evaluate body pressure distribution of frontal driver seat cushion for men`s drivers on 3000cc automobiles. In this paper, TACTILUS mat-type was used to measure the body pressure distribution of frontal driver seat cushion and selected 9 healthy men and 6 healthy women and 2 types of 3000cc automobiles. In the result of this paper, pressure distribution of backrests was proved not significant (α=0.05). Finally, in the result of this paper, body pressure distribution of 2 types was proved not significant (α=0.05). Also, body pressure distribution of 2 types in 3000cc automobiles was not different through analysis of variable (ANOVA).

시험핵연료봉 헬륨가스 충진 시스템 개발

A fuel test rig is fabricated by various welding technologies jointing various sensors and the end caps with cladding which inserts the nuclear fuels. To precisely weld the pin-hole which is drilled on the end cap of a nuclear fuel rod, a high-pressure filling system was designed and developed. This welding system consists of mainly a high-pressure chamber, a spot welding jig and a tungsten inert-gas (TIG) welder. The nuclear fuelrod welded with this process should not leak helium gas out of its outside, when it is taken out of the high-pressure chamber. Using this system, the performance tests were performed with TIG spot welding conditions. And the welding characteristics were conformed with welded surfaces and microstructure of end-cap samples. This paper describes not only the composition and function of the high-pressure gas filling system for filling helium gas but also methods and results of the spot welding tests.

간이형 해상근무자 피로도 측정기 개발

Fatigue of maritime workers has been regarded as a potential cause of marine accident or a factor that contributed to human errors. However a recent related study figured out that fatigue of maritime worker sclosely affected practicing a job and is one of main causes to bring human errors. So, whether to consider human factors on maritime field or not is becoming an object of interest. In this paper, for easily measuring fatigue of maritime workers in onboard, maritime crew fatigue assessment system (McFAS) based on smartphone application was developed. McFAS was composed of flicker tester, fatigue tester and job stress tester and was verified through comparison of results with other fatigue measuring equipment.

The heavy work attitude and degree of the force occur work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMDSs) inautomobile parts manufacturing company. The harmful process is required workplace improvement planning in order to remove harmful work. Therefore, this paper describes improvement of work for prevention of WMSDs through job strain index (JSI), ovako working posture analysing system (OWAS), and rapid upper limb assessment (RULA) in automobile parts manufacturing company. Finally, continuous accomplishment of this countermeasure was created healthy working place.
