This paper addresses the retrieval batch size which the uni-directional multi-racks carousel system can be feasible. The items that customers order are retrieved from the bins of the carousel with batch size. The mathematical model is formulated to represent the rotary travel distance and the retrieval lead time for retrieval batch size in an uni-directional carousel system. The rotary travel distance is the distance which the carousel system rotates for retrieval of all items included in a batch. The retrieval lead time is the time interval from retrieval starting time to retrieval finishing time for retrieval of all items included in a batch. The retrieval batch size that the carousel system can be feasible is obtained. A numerical example is shown to explain the solution procedure.

Robust design method has been widely used in product, process or equipment design. To be robust, it is desirable to have little variation for design functions under uncontrollable usage or environment conditions. Such noise variables should be considered precisely in parameter design; their types and levels should be carefully determined. This paper proposes how to select noise variables and design experiments effectively. A case study is given.

Traditionally, the coefficients have been obtained using experimental measurements according to AHSRAE Standard 120, a process which is time consuming and expensive. An alternative is to use CFD, but this has uncertainty due to the approximations used in modeling turbulence. This study estimated that the pressure loss coefficients of duct fitting(elbow, tee) by turbulence model(Standard k-ε, Realizable k-ε, RSM, SST k-ω) using CFD techniques. The results show that Realizable k-ε model could accurately predict the pressure loss coefficients from all cases.

The mining operation by installing the cyclone collector to collect various types of suspension dust. Can improve the performance of the local exhaust system shall meet both of these economic and collection efficiency cyclone. Therefore, this study perform the collection efficiency and the conveyance power through a CFD analysis to the cyclone dust collector that is used in the industry in general. The results show that 100% collection efficiency for the generation of suspension dust in all except the V.I.(Φ 500). Pressure drops of standard, high efficiency, V.I.(Φ 300), V.I.(Φ 500) presented each 1,000, 600, 300, 150 Pa. Therefore V.I.(Φ 300) is the most efficient among the dust collectors.

실시간 원격 설비 모니터링 시스템 연구

In this paper was described implementation of a wireless remote equipment monitoring system, for realtime machine tool health condition monitoring in a limited area using wireless CDMA modem. The proposed system consists of two CDMA modem for wireless transmission and wireless reception. A hole sensor was used for measuring lathe motor current. A thermal sensor was used for measuring cutting temperature. In addition, the control unit and GPS sensor and the central monitoring PC was used for remote monitoring. The control unit is able to detect motor current value and temperature by embedded A/D converter module and transmits these values to the central monitoring PC. The system can be used for long-time continuous monitoring of machine tool with the cutting state to change. Also this system can be used for remote condition monitoring of automatic production equipment. A user-friendly graphical display was developed to display current and temperature coming from the monitored lathe.

보증수리기간 데이터를 활용한 트럭크레인의 수명분석

This paper is focused on the problem of analyzing field data for truck crane which is designed to be installed to a commercial truck mainly to load/unload and transport various heavy loads. The failure data of the truck crane within the warranty period was collected from A/S center. Maximum likelihood and least squares estimators for the parameters of lifetime distribution are obtained and predict the lifetime of the three truck crane models. † To whom correspondence should be addressed. Corresponding Author: sixsigma@cnu.ac.krⓒ2014 The Korean Institute of Plant Engineering The lifetime of three truck crane models follow the Weibull distribution. Mean lifetimes of small, medium, and large size truck cranes were 6544.2 days, 201.5 days, and 239.8 days, respectively. The lifetime for small size truck crane is larger than medium and large size truck cranes. In order to improve the lifetime of truck crane, we propose that the warranty period for small size truck crane change from six month to one year. Also, the main fault components for medium and large size truck cranes can be improved.

플라스틱 기판에서의 잉크젯 코팅을 위한 공정 개선

Direct printing technology is an attractive pattern method, which has become immerging as "touch screen panel (TSP) technology" to the conventional photolithography, on account of low cost, simple process and environment-friendliness. At coating process, the coating gap is an important factor. Specially, at a cell type from the substrate, using the existing methods is difficult to maintain the uniformity of coating. In order to commercialize the printed TSP in industry, it is essential to evaluate the black matrix (BM) properties of pattern using direct printing process. In this study, slit coating uniformity compared to inkjet uniformity and thickness profile was analyzed using alpha-step the pencil hardness test and the optical density (OD) measurement were performed. As a result, changes of the coating process need to be made depending on the type of substrate and inkjet coating was suitable for substrate of a cell type.

Supplier selection is one of the most crucial strategic problems to set up a successful supply chain relationship. However, due to rapid changes in the management environment, decision makers often experience lack of information necessary for an exact decision. This paper suggests an integrated MCDM (Multi-Criteria Decision Making) method, using DS/AHP (Dempster-Shafer/Analytic Hierarchy Process) and GRA (Grey Relational Analysis), to deal with lack of information in the supplier selection problem. To obtain the decision matrix, the Dempster-Shafer rule of combination is used with the basic probability assignments (BPA) and the plausibility function. Furthermore, the degree of relations for suppliers are obtained by multiplying grey relational coefficients with inequal weights of criteria. The proposed method is investigated by a numerical example for its applicability and validation.

This study analyzes the actual state of health & safety activities in industrial classification. In addition, to compare and analyze the actual state of health & safety activities, both examinations; question investigation and visiting survey were used in this study. Consequently, we would like to comparatively analyze the excellent cases and the poor cases. Therefore, this result can contribute to decrease the rate of industrial accident.

This paper researches on building a development process for establishing a quality plan for initial quality assurance purposes in electronic component manufacturers. In this study, we analyze the ISO-based quality planning activities of electronic component manufacturers and compared with APQP quality planning activities in the automotive industry. Moreover the quality planning activities in the electronic components industry confirms the shortcomings points, and constructs APQP-based development process on the electronic component. To meet customer delivery schedules were the first consideration point in the quality planning stages on the electronic component industry, and establish a development process that was considered sufficient for the advanced quality planning activities. And the process was applied to examine the feasibility and effectiveness. The result of this study that was built for development process on the electronic component, production start schedule, the initial failure rate, the customer rejects were reasonable than existing process. When applying this process, the company will be expected to help in the initial quality assurance and ensuring customer loyalty.
