The Letter of Intent for a bail-out loan, agreed on December 3. 1997 by and between Korea and the International Monetary Fund(IMF), gives rise to great turmoils on the Korean economy and the world financial circles. There are so many factors resolting in the fall of the Korean economy in the various fields such as the politics, the enconomy, the society, the culture, and the public consciousness, etc It is strongly required for to take the survival strategy and sensibility being adequate in the IMF regime instead of the common sense, the experiences and the value system got from the past in order to subsist in this financial crisis. It the Korean management style, that is to say high cost and low efficiency, for keeping step with the cosmopolitan way of thinking and other fields. In the world today pursuing multifunctionalization, the social and entreneurial environments change very rapidly like a revolution aided by advanced industrial development and scientific thechnologoes. In the midst of these changes, consumer behavior as well as the flow of economy and technological innovation is mush influenced by high-technologies, individualism and sensitivity. Furthermore, the fixed idea of consumers is undergoing a change, challenged by the borderless business war caused by free trade. It is evident that companies, realizing they can not meet the various demands of consumers with the current marketing tools which include utilizing experiences, current technologies and methods, make every efforts to differentiate themselves from competitors. Therefore, in this paper, the writer withes to search for the direction to head in this field in the future by analyzing the design of guest room amenities used by domestic and foreign 5-star hotels. In this respect, the results can contribute to the upgrade of hotel image domestically and inter nationally as well as to the enhancement of hotel`s capability to adapt themselves to changing giobal environments. After the 1988 Seoul Olympies, the number of foreign travelers and the foregine investment increased sharply resulting from the boom in the travel industry. Great efforts were made to rear the travel industry into one of the key industries. The writer intends to present a design, to leave a strong impression on the visiting foreigners and upgrade the hotel`s image, focusing on the improvement and development of the design of guest room amenities which is important culturally and
