싱가포르 대학생의 잠재적 한국어 학습 동기

This study aims to investigate the potential demand for learning Korean language. Potential demand for Korean Language learning among young Singaporeans was analysed with established pedagogical principles based on Dörnyei(2005)’s ideal L2 self. A questionnaire with 13 Likert-type scale items was developed to survey the language learning motivation of 359 university students who have experience of learning the third language during their secondary ages. The result showed a strong interest in travelling to Korea, a high commitment to foreign language learning, and a deep recognition of the distinctive characteristics that make up Korean culture. About 20% of the participants are already learning Korean in one form or another, many of whom have been interested in learning Korean from a young age. Coupled with the positive findings from the study on the potential demand for Korean among young Singaporeans, the study concludes that there is a strong and sustainable case for introducing Korean into the public education system in Singapore. The goal of this paper is to suggest the document system of the future National Curriculum of Korean language. To achieve this goal, we analysed 9 language education curriculum documents around the world on in 4 categories - nature and backgrounds, frameworks of contents, contextual application methods and an extra resources. As the result, we suggest 1) principles of curriculum design in macro perspective including concepts of the standards as central role for developing Korean language curriculums, the individual curriculums as local-appropriately derived result from standard and the manual as a helper to apply the standards to develop an individual curriculum and 2) components of the document system of the future national curriculum of Korean Language, concerning the role distribution with the individual curriculums, as the nature and background, contents frameworks and the contents and application methods. 본문강화가 제2언어 스페인어 학습에 미치는 영향: 방법론적 연구 종합

학습자들의 주의 (attention)를 암시적으로 끄는 방법으로서, 본문강화 (textual enhancement)가 스페인어를 제2언어로 배우는 학습자들의 목표어 학습에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구가 상당히 이루어져 왔다. 본 연구는 1981년과 2019년 사이에 출판된, 본문강화가 스페인어 학습에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구한 실험연구들과 유사실험연구들을 연구 방법론적 측면에서 고찰하고 평가하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 체계적 절차를 활용하여 관련 문헌들을 모두 검색하였고, 본문강화의 효과성을 방법론적으로 어떻게 연구하였는지를 체계적으로 분석하기 위해 메타분석 기법을 활용하였다. 검색된 자료 중, 본 연구에서 설정한 선정기준에 적합한 총 13편의 논문을 대상으로 하여 표본 추출, 연구 설계, 통계학적 분석, 데이터 보고와 관련된 방법론적 특성들을 코딩한 후 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 방법론적 측면과 데이터 보고 측면에서 강점들 뿐만 아니라 여러 가지 개선되어야 할 점이 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 후속연구에 대한 시사점을 논의하고 제언을 하였다. 본 연구는 향후 계속 이루어질 해당 주제에 대한 실험연구의 방법론적인 측면과 데이터 보고 측면을 향상시키고, 나아가 보다 타당도와 신뢰도가 높은 연구 결과를 도출하고 보고하는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다. 베트남인 초급 학습자가 산출한 단모음에 대한 한국어 모어 화자의 지각

This study examines which Korean monophthongs have to be corrected in the first place for the Vietnamese learners of Korean and how they can be corrected. The participants were required to listen to the words that contain the target vowels produced by the Vietnamese novice learners of Korean and choose which vowel is the closest to what they just heard. In the first experiment, which all 7 monophthongs were tested, the rate of the perception error was highest in /ㅜ/ and /ㅓ/. The 3 vowels whose rate of error was higher than the others were tested in the second experiment, and the result shows that when the native speakers of Korean discriminate those vowels from the others, F1 can be the more significant clue than F2. The purpose of this study is to investigate how bilingualism of immigrants in Korea influence their adaptation to Korean society. In addition, this study is going to check whether bilingual speakers are willing to maintain their language proficiency or pass them to their children, and it will also pay attention to what the causes would be if one gives up speaking or transferring bilingual usage in Korean society. The study could find out the following: First, the perception of bilingual and culture is different by countries of origin; Second, target learners’ perceptions of bilingual and culture depend on period they lived in Korea. In conclusion, this study affirms that the perspectives of Korean society about diverse cultures and mutilingualism have a negative impact on linguistic proficiency of multicultural individuals residing in Korea. Multilingual speakers’ taking a passive attitude on their multilingual ability means a grave disadvantage at not only an individual level but also societal and even national levels. Therefore, this study suggests that we should create a social atmosphere to acknowledge multilingual abilities of minority members. (Yeungnam University)

국외 한국어 교원의 교육 및 연구 역량 제고를 위한 역량 중요도-역량 향상도 분석

The purpose of this study is to find out what to focus on in terms of education and research competencies in order to cultivate the professionalism of overseas Korean language teachers, and to seek direction for reinforcement of future training institutes. Technology, Pedagogy, and Content Knowledge(TPACK) survey among overseas participants of Korean language teacher training program was conducted to find out important competencies of Korean language educators and how the improvement of these competencies was achieved by participating in the training program. We studied the importance and improvement competencies from the perspective of TPACK. As a result, in terms of teaching competency, the participants recognized the importance of contents knowledge(CK), teaching knowledge(TK), and content teaching knowledge(CTK), and the average value of technology content teaching knowledge(TCTK) and technology knowledge(TK) was high in terms of capability improvement. As a result of the IPA analysis, ‘concentration’ included teaching knowledge(TK), content knowledge(CK), and content teaching knowledge(CTK), while ‘continuity’ included technology content teaching knowledge(TCTK). In terms of research competencies, the ability to conduct research related to content knowledge, teaching knowledge, and technology all showed high average values of importance competency and improvement competency. Through this study, we identified important areas to pay attention in order to expand education and research competencies, and confirmed that education that combines content knowledge, teaching knowledge, and technology knowledge should be continued at future workshops. The purpose of this study was to examine the use of linguistic elements in argumentative texts written by foreign Korean learners in comparison with texts of Korean native speakers, and to clarify their characteristics in terms of text genre. For this reason, after extracting key words that are judged to be statistically significant using text mining, we visualized the relational network between various key words and compared them. As a result of the language network analysis, we were able to compare the argument methods of the two groups, and also found the differences in the viewpoints to observe the situation. This is a result that shows that the genre knowledge of the argument text of foreign learners is insufficient compared to Korean speakers. Therefore, it can be seen that learning and training related to text genre and verbal expression are required in the field of Korean education.
