This study is concerned with the common characteristics of the film and poetry. The composition of a film isn't different with the composition of liter-atire. The metaphorical, metonymical, synecdoche and repetitional character of poetry influence from words to sentence, and from tone to theme. Likewise, interaction with frames or shots of film play a part the same. As the metaphor of poetry makes meaning through collision and combination of parts, the metaphor of film makes meaning through collision and combination of each shot or each element within frame. The whole system of one poem or one film is combined with sum of this parts. And the metonymy and synecdoche of poetry and film is useful to take the whole with part in the same way. The repetition of poetry and film embody the sameness and difference simultaneously. Each element makes new meaning by means of the repetition. If the compositional principle of film is same with it of poetry, it is useful to establish compositional principle of general literature works.

This study tries to investigate the Meaning of Lee Kwang-su’s < Moojeong > as Popular literature. The modernity of Lee Kwang-su was elitist and negotiatory one. But his novel < Moojeong > was a very popular and fabulous work. It realized the essential direction of modernity. Especially, his self-consciousness about language in < Moojeong > was an excellent model of modem spirit and it also was a first education novel very well refined. The results are as follows : (l)Lee Kwang-su's literary ideology was started by nationalism and humanism, accepted enlightening discourse as major methods. He groped fiction writing of Popular literature as literary practice for propagation with effect. The summit of acception is < Moojeong > (2) The popular aesthetics has meaning satisfaction for reader’s needs and ultimately are methods that selected for communicating his enlightening discourse.

This article has been written for the purpose of analyzing the attitude and the sense of value of writer Kim Sung-jong towards sexuality shown in his mystery stories: “Death of a Prostitute,” “A River Adrift,” “Murder on Piano” and 11A White Human Being.” In his stories, sexual crimes are constituted by violating the social taboos such as “incest,” “extra-marital sex” and ‘‘pre-marital sex.” Human sexuality is revealed in his stories as a desire that should never be confined within the system of marriage, and sexuality violating the social taboos is presented so that it arouses the opposite into a feeling of being betrayed and anger, finally making him to rush to commit murder By the way, the fact that the relationship between those who violate social taboos is represented only as deviant behavior and sexuality is described focussing on physical matters lack of spirituality shows to some extent the limit of a popular story. This phenomenon is considered not as Kim Sung-jong's own characteristic but as a kind of behavior of males in our society who would understand a sexual connection as a way of confirming the concept of possession of a female body rather than intercourse as love based on the human relation with females; which is related with males' consciousness to inhumanize females as a sexual object rather than to respect their personality. In other words, this phenomenon is related to discriminative sexual identity that the male is the sexual subject and the female is the sexual object. Such a discriminative sexual identity is revealed repeatedly through the dissymmetry in which a female's body is described as an object in the male's eyes while a male’s body is not objectified. Though Kim Sung-jong’s stories are dealing with deviations like incest, extra-marital sex and pre-marital sex, there have never been any descriptions of inverted sexual activity in them. Indeed, in his stories, no homosexuality has been described, even incest has happened unconsciously and no trace of oral sex, sado-masochism, voyeurism, exhibitionism, fetishism, masturbation has been found. Consequently, writer Kim Sung-jong is considered as a sexual conservative. He can be defined as a writer who guides the readers through interest and concern in logic and reasoning for themselves rather than absorbing the readers through excessive descriptions of sexuality though sexuality has been often chosen as material that constitutes a crime, that is, a writer who is thorough in keeping to the conventions of mystery story writing.

The most important thing in the discourse of popular literature is that illuminating it's literary achievement properly. If we don't overcome the binary opposition like genuine/popular, high/low, and have a negative viewpoint about it, there is no good result of discussion about popular literature. So I intend to discuss about the meaning and result of popular novel in 1970s which is excluded or overlooked in our literary history. 「The Hometown of Stars」 and 「The Sleep Which Is Deeper Than the Death」 shows the cruel aspect of the city well. These works represent the city as the great melting pot which tempt all of us into that space at that time. Our desire and frustration, hope and despair are confused in the city of 1970s, and then these works show our city in 1970s very honestly. 'Kyung-A' and ‘Da-Hee’, the heroine of these works is no more than the dark portrait and alter ego of these days. 「The Golden Age of Young Ja」 and 「The Small Ball Which Dwarf Set Off」 also disclose the ecology of the city. These works shows the disruption of rural community, people’s marginalization at the city, and their class consciousness. In particular, 「The Small Ball Which Dwarf Set Off」 explore the life of a dwarf, the emblem of an alienated person during the industrialized period, and present the perspective of class consciousness, transforming laborer into middle class. So its subject .still has the present meaning. That is, the popular novels like 「The Hometown of Stars」 present the horizon that our popular literature must be intent. Its significance of literary history can he found here, too. So it is difficult to say with contempt that these works are ‘light consuming literature'.

This is a study on Dok-kyeon’s novels. I researched the popularities and modernity in his novels. The result was that the popularities of Dok-kyeon1 novels are expressed in the material(taboo, sexual indulgence and crime) and that the modernity of his novels is found in the hero(horoin) as an individual subject.

한ㆍ중ㆍ일 신화의 오뉘모티프 형성과 변화

This paper researches the meaning of creation and transformation of the brother-sister motif presented in the great flood myth of brother-sister marriage related to the recreation of mankind. Focusing on the fact that this creation myths with the brother-sister motif have been handed down in China and Japan, as well as in Korea, this research covers the comparison among the Eastern Asian mythology cycles. However, it didn't proceed to the exhaustive and detailed analysis on the each nation's data. As a result, it is found that the brother-sister motif in the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean myths is a mytheme created in the transforming stage from the matriarchal myth to the patriarchal one. At that time when the goddess ruled the world and recreated nature and humankind herself, the Goddess was called her own name: Yeowa in China, Mago or Seondoseongmo in Korea, and Izanami in Japan. However, as the history of patriarchy started resisting matriarchal worship, the power of patriarchy brought the Deluge to the myths and created brother beside the goddess. This is how a brother and a sister emerged in the myths together. In this regard, the brother-sister motif is a mytheme originated in the process where patriarchy began dominating the world. Before Jong, as the brother-sister motif was changing to the brother-sister’s power competing motif, the sister’s equal footing with the brother was led to the sister’s downfall and the birth of the hero brother, and finally the original matriarchal system was superseded or displaced by the patriarchal system.

The women's Lifetime-Gasa which had been written and transmitted by the Yangban women is a subject of this thesis. In women’s Lifetime-Gasa, a point of view and narrative methods are deeply discussed especially. The women's Lifetime-Gasa can be divided into two types according to the standpoint of the narrator in the works. The first type is newly named in this thesis as the major character viewpoint, the second type the observer viewpoint. In the texts of the major character viewpoint, the narrator controls the readers to devote themselves to the texts, through commentary,summary, situation description and scene presentation. She narrates omnisciently what she had not experienced, of limitedly what she had been impressed on. In the texts of the observer viewpoint, the readers have a critical distance to a major character when the narrator utilizes the commentary, meanwhile they have positive or negative attitude to a major character when the narrator adopts the scene presentation. This study made the significant progress in paying dose attention to the form of Gasa and in introducing the method of analysis which have been used in the narrative literature to Gasa which is the didactic literature. It may, however, have some problems to generalize the results because the subject is inclined to the narrative Gasa. More precise research on the correspondence of those results with the content, the comparison of it with the other genres, the status and the value of it in the literary history, therefore, should be continued.

This study has progressed comparing Kim, Su-Yung’s poetics with Kim, Chun-Su's poetics in order to establish two genealogy of South Korea modern literature criticism. Summarizing result that is got in main discourse, is as following. The poetics of Kim, S니-Yung is started at historic situations and an intellectual thought. Discord which suffer between tradition and modernism is internalized by love and hate about tradition, and Revolution' that suffer to shared experience gets into motive that revolve consciousness which follow 'modern and smart’ by history consciousness. This all awareness are converged by Kim, Su-Yung's spirit to unite life with poem. Therefore, poetics of his whole body intends agreement of poem and prose, consciousness of poem and consciousness of prose, art and reality and this is connected union poem and life soon. There is literature in extension with life and human and society finally and insistence that dangerous stress of line state that they unite is force of poem is the essence of Kim, Su-Yung's poetics. Awareness which accomplish foundation of Kim, Chun-Su's poetics is making form speculation and private existence. Until the recent poem his suspicion starting point was boring about language and object's relation, ontology and epistemology study, he is based on ideological attitude consecutively. Attitude which recognize poem as aesthetic existence that is become independent from actuality is started here. Such speculative attitude is arrived at a view of the world which is linked by mythical world adhering to point of view of anxious about history and actual problem. Concepts that is accompanied to insistence that poem and prose should be halved are divided and are formed by nonsense poetics elaborately by exact logic of poet. Thorough division of poem and prose are that accomplish division of art and life, has shaped the conscious of art in other dimension with poem and life.

최인호의 「유령의 집」에 나타나는 해체적 환상 담론 분석

「The House of Ghost」shows the desire of deconstructive and fantastic discourse well by its narration. Its basic strategy consists in a transposition and overturn narration : through a person’s visionary eyes-a narrator, who lost the sense of reality due to no memory, makes illusion realistic or reality illusory. This visionary eyes, the fantastic discourse continuously breaks up and demolishes the borderline between reality and illusion, truth and untruth, and signification and non-signification. This work de-constructs the past novelistic grammar and furthermore asks us a question of the existing conventional way which has built up reality and its meaning in novel. That is, the characteristics of this text tells us a narrative strategy - making the narration meaninglessness that is tinged with metaphorical point of view. The chore of this strategy, a very bordeline deconstruction, decides the conventional meaning and the structure of the narrative, and uses not only metonymy of a metaphorical character as a poetical strategy but also the narrative structure of oxymoron. The reliability of narrator, the unity of character, and narrative structure relied on those are golden rules in the conventional narrative grammar. And yet this text casts a doubt about the reliability mentioned above and tries to de-construct it intentionally. This attitude might be a fantastic discourse that seems to bring us some doubt about the omniscience of narrator due to its ambiguous narrative. And his discourse -showing the transposition and overturn of reality and illusion jumbled-and his happenings with some lady means the very fantastic discourse that betrays the conventionally novel grammar cruelly. Thus this novel is directly opposite to those readers who have been used to traditional 'narrative meaning'. In this manner, this text is a novel to exclude and disregard for forming the conventional narrative significance a non-signification novel to show us ' The House of Ghost is in itself a literary discourse through the deconstructive fantastic one, mentioned above previously.
