The Kyeokjosi theory is the definitive work of Kim Uk's poetics theory as well as a meaningful work in the history of our Korean poetics. While exploring Kyeokjosi, Kim Uk sticked to the versification as a new paradigm of poetry which should be evaluated as a positive achievement. There is a high possibility that Kyeokjosi he was sought initially could be a free style poetry with meter enlivened in it. Specially, he had been studying on the pattern of Korean poetry from long times ago already, and it seems to have been recognized by him that what was the necessary to free style poem was the poem that has rhythm in it. Despite such positive evaluation, his Kyeokjosi theory has a clear limitation as well. The effort of Kim Uk intended to provide ideal pattern of Kyeokjosi based on the theory of the meter exposed a substantial limitation from the theory he had been sticked to. As a result he failed to find out a style of Kyeokjosi proper to us and hastily led to the frame of 7.5 phrase 12 syllables. This in turn provided a ground that Kyeokjosi was intended to imitate close to the meter of Japanese poetry. The interest of Kim Uk was to seek the most ideal Kyeokjosi, as a result of which he didn't pay much attention to the fact that Kyeokjosi has become a poetry with fixed Syllable meter. It is a clear mistake that he sought idealistic Kyeokjosi in the fixed syllabic meter. In additon, Kim Uk's Kyeokjosi theory had not gained opportunity to be developed to the discussions of the typicality of the poetry at all that goes beyond the basic unit meter or basic unit which forms standard unit of meter. That is due to the inability to understand clearly with regard to the concept of < line > and the beauty of meter created by internal diversity of meter contained in the poetry. Because of immatured understanding of the basic concept meter and undisputed acceptance of Japanese poetry theory, Kyeokjosi theory that presented to the poetics society with full of aspiration of free style poem could not but to receive the criticism of deterioration of the poetry theory or metrical theory. The Kyeokjosi theory of Kim Uk provides a substantial implication to the contemporary free style poem direction to move forward. When we have a glance at our contemporary free style poetry, such concerns toward Kim Uk may not be regarded as meaningless, that which path of contemporary poetry had been pursued and to what direction need to be moved forward from the view point of meter of contemporary verse. Rather, the most urgent point required in the poetical circles may be the recovery to be the poetry like of the free style poem. As sought by the Kyeokjosi theory from Kim Uk, though he might have failed, it still required to have the agony and reflection how to create the poetry to be poem- like by applying meter of ours to the free style of poem.

Korean literature in Australia begins March, 1989 by making 'The Association of Korean Writers in Australia'. Currently, the three literature communities-The Association of Korean Writers in Australia, The Australian Literature Association, The Association of Korea Literature in Australia are busy doing in Australia. You can see brief history of Korean-Australian literature with these three communities in this paper. And I divided Korean-Australian literature into four parts which show dynamic portrayal of the inner side of voluntary immigrants to examine their emotional change&crisis and how they adapt to new society successively. The four parts are 'Reading&Healing their wound', 'Breaking fantasies of romantic utopia', 'Watching outside' and 'Joining with neighbors'. 1. The noticeable feature of Korean-Australian literature is that they mention about their private hurt before immigration and the reason of immigration frequently. Their life in Australia revealed itself as new perception spot which makes them live independent. 2. When the immigrate to Australia, Korean immigrants first see the exotic scenery and admire the beautiful landscape. But there is no admiration in personal life. It is real life of immigrants to compete everyday to survive and live minority in the society. 3. They immigrate to live better, but in fact, they are just outsiders in Australia. It is results from duplicity of Australian government which claims to advocate multi-cultural society. Korean-Australian literature shows complaints of the reality and conflicts among Korean immigrants. Korean-Australian literature is trying to show interests in minority with their literature. Furthermore the extend the range of the concept 'minority' since it starts of Korean immigrants. It can be seen some kind of complaint against the ruined spirit of multi-cultural society.

The poetry of Jeong Ji Yong divide into three usually. The three parts are modernism of the primary stage, religion-poetry of the middle, a landscape poetry of the end. Among those, a landscape poetry from the '20s to the '30s that have experienced modern civilization can be grasped to remove. We should read the poems of Ji-Yong written at the same time in a overlapping manner. Then we were aware how he understanded the era of reality and the perception of modernity, we will know more closely. This able to capture in a poem of the modern perception is embodied through the postmodern perspective. Postmodern orientation is captured in the initial poetry is deleted the city, cultures, knowledge systems, institutions of modernity, and finally, will enter the world of nature. A landscape-poetry deleted modern human subject encompass home-recognition and national sentiment in the early poems. Alienated from the perceptions of the modern ones are expanded. So, the sad-modern is established anti-imperialism as the nature and the colonized. Here it comes out of modernity, of modern civilization will realize fiction, the colonized is self aware. At this point, postmodernism closely relative post-colonialism or ecologism.

This study analyses the real story of Gang-Myounghwa, Lee-Haejo's new-novel and Hyun-Jingun's Red smile, The Equator, especially on female character. Lee-Haejo has recomposed the real story of Gang-Myounghwa. He proposed a moral of recommendation good and punishment evil as readers expected. Hyun-Jingun's showed a creative variation on the real story of Gang-Myounghwa. He borrowed main motif from the real story of Gang-Myounghwa, but he transformed it modernly. The Equator(1933) is based on his works The Red smile(1925) and The Sunrising horizon(1927). He has recomposed these works into a new, whole text. Most of all, he has created a dynamic female character, Lee-Myounghwa, who rules the text and affects on both all male characters and events. She has been derived from the real story of Gang-Myounghwa, but recreated by Hyun-Jingun in The Equator.

This thesis investigates the aspects of the acceptance of critical ideology of 1970's in the novels of Park Wan-seo. "The beginning of the living days" and "The famine of the city" show that the author cannot help being affected by the ideology that literature should recognize and describe the structural contradictions of society claimed by the significant literary magazine "Literature and Intelligence" and "Creation and Critic". Those novels of Park Wan-seo also show that the author developes the idea antagonizing the ideology of Minjung literature claimed by "Creation and Critic". But this antagonizing idea appears in mentally divided state.

This study examined the literary features of picture books, a genre of children’s literature. To this end, the representative works of several famous writers were analyzed. In general, most research into picture books has focused on the aspect of early childhood education. This study found that while picture books whose main readers were children comprised short narratives, they were an attractive medium with rich content which had to be read with thought and feeling. In short, picture books are a medium containing the beauty of space and condensation through the weaving of pictures and narratives. Picture books stimulate the imagination of readers as if it were necessary to read between the lines containing literary value, such as the metaphorical element. Metaphorical expression requires more effort than verbatim expression in understanding content. Some might be concerned if picture books were too difficult for children, the main readers, to understand. However, as Chukovskii pointed out, only children are able to create and accept new metaphors just as they frequently make creative linguistic mistakes. Another feature of picture books is the emphasis on fantasy. The dominant element in children’s literature including picture books is fantasy. While fantasy in picture books is also as strange a world as metaphorical expression, children’s natural inclination to accept strange things is the unique privilege of children, just as in their creative linguistic mistakes. This is the reason why children can be absorbed in strange fantasy. As discussed above, this study considered fantasy and metaphor as the ruling authority in picture books. Such features act as the literary elements in picture books and, at the same time, expand the imagination of children.

This paper aims to find the ways of effective writing education by using self-narrative. Self-narrative is one of writing methods through which one can reflect upon one's own life seriously. Recently < writing for self-introduction > is broadly used for practising express oneself for practicality in writing lessons. But the students who do not fully understand theirselves usually feel mental pressure on such writings. In the process of self-narrative students can grasp present-self- identity by using 'past'. And in that process they can realize theirselves as a being-in a society and communities. Autobiographic writing is useful for regaining self-respect and the result can bring synergy effect to other writings which students must perform in other lessons. Because the average student can not confidently suggest subjective point of view from their thinking. Therefore the purpose of self-narrative writing is not too far from that of logical writing.

This study aims to review the dilemma and double desire of female love stories through the trends of romantic love being structured, focused on full-length novels of female novelists Gang, Shin-jae and Eun, Hee-kyung. On one hand, the female love stories create domination and tension by highlighting the oxymoron social structure and the reality dominated by men. On the other hand, these novels search and conserve "moral fantasy" and "popular sublime" of love. The novels of Gang, Shin-jae and Eun, Hee-kyung reveals that romantic love is a false ideology, conflicting with the marriage system and reproducing the existing society. Gang, Shin-jae's 『Your Cold Hands』 puts the pure love and feudal family system in conflicting relation, and Eun, Hee-kyung's 『Last Dance is with Me』 dissembles the old ideology of the women's sacrifice and devotion, maternal instinct and purity. However, these novels disconnect the link between love and marriage, and pursue the narrative structure of union-delay, which denies the final destination of love stories. Also, this produces romantism of love and utopian aspirations.
