This paper focuses on analyzing Japanese textbooks , , . In addition, These books were published for elementary school returnees and foreign worker`s children in Japan. Prior to analyses for textbooks, I investigated two practical cases in Fukuoka City and Matsuyama City and reviewed their official documents relate to education thanks to Japanese officers` cooperation. From three elemental points of view - topics, grammars, and layouts through Japanese Textbooks, their topics and grammars(including new words and expressions) are so relate to children`s school-life and their learning levels. I also reviewed to their teacher`s manuals published by Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports Science and Technology. They have very amazing layouts are consisted of very funny illustrations and cartoons matching on children`s interests and real school-life. Especially, and are oriented integrated education such as mathematics, science and sociology courses in elementary school through Japanese. I hope that this research would help developing Korean textbooks for foreign workers` children as formal school education. (Matsuyama University)

고급 한국어 읽기 수업에서 정보 처리 접근법을 이용한 문화 교육

이 논문은 고급 한국어 읽기 수업에서 정통 자료를 이용한 수업 활동 및 모국어 화자 인터뷰에 근거한 문화 교육을 실시한 후 그 질적 연구(qualitative research) 결과를 서술하고 있다. 반일 감정이라는 주제를 정해 관련 시, 신문 기사를 읽고, 동시에 개별 모국어 화자 인터뷰를 실시해 결과 중심이 아닌 과정 중심의 문화 수업 사례를 보여주고자 했다. 연구과제 수행 전후에 설문조사를 실시해 학습자들의 한국인 반일 감정에 대한 사고 및 태도의 긍정적인 변화를 살펴보았다. 또한 학습 활동 영향도 조사를 통해 학습자들이 본 연구에서 실시한 세 가지 활동에 대해서 모두 높은 만족도를 보였으며 그 중에서도 초기 설문조사 결과와 달리 시 읽기가 가장 효과적인 활동이었다고 보고하였다. 본 논문은 주제 중심의 시 읽기와 기사 읽기 그리고 모국어 화자 인터뷰가 서로 조화를 이루어 학생들의 제2 문화에 대한 감정적 자각(affective awareness) 및 인지적 유연성(cognitive flexibility)을 향상시켜 결과적으로 효과적인 제2 문화 습득에 기여하고 있음을 밝힘과 동시에 고급 읽기 수업을 통한 정보 처리 접근법식 문화 수업 유형을 제시하고 있다.

한국어 원어민 화자의 표현 형태 양상 조사 연구

This study aims to survey and analysis the expressional forms of Korean native speakers so that it can be used as the base of Korean language study material. Even if a Korean language learner masters the exact grammatical forms, the learner would have trouble in real communication without understanding actual functions of the forms. To learn both grammatical form itself and the actual functions of the form, it is required to construct the native speaker baseline data as well as Korean grammatical knowledge. Therefore in this study, the actual usage of 83 korean native speakers and application methods of that for Korean language education are researched. Also, with the data collecting method of DCT(Discourse Completion Test), 14 conditions are set up, and the expressional forms of each condition whose the expressional purpose is fixed are researched. For Korean language education, it is needed to develope the material on learning the language form according to expressional intention. This survey of the expressional forms of Korean native speakers can be an meaningful attempt to attain this goal. (Central University of Nationalities, China)

"한국어능력시험"과 일본 "<한글>능력검정시험" 초급 문제에 대한 비교 연구

The aim of this paper is to analyze the structural differences between the TOPIK and the Hangul Language Proficiency Test, which is administered in Japan. In this paper, we confined our attention to the beginner`s level of these two tests and analyzed their test items in terms of pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and discourse. As a result, although they have the same name "beginner`s level", these proficiency tests revealed many differences in their distribution of grammatical items. Furthermore, the TOPIK doesn`t have test items concerning pronunciation. Such differences reflect how the two test systems interpret the "beginner`s level", and how they decide what learners need to study at the beginner`s level. From a contrastive linguistic point of view, these proficiency tests have different characteristics because the Hangul Language Proficiency Test introduced such contrastive viewpoints into their test items, while the TOPIK didn`t. We should recognize these differences appropriately for effective use of these two tests. (Tokyo University of Foreign Studies)

한국어 교재에 나타난 학습 활동의 현황과 변천 과정 연구

There are many differences between the Korean Textbooks of the past and the most recent Korean Language Education materials. While communicative language teaching and the integrative approach constitute the main current, more recent texts emphasize learning activities which focus on the learner. In this study, and through the analysis of the Korean textbooks, learning activities are arranged into 4 basic categories. First, ``exercises`` - in which repeated practice (usually in the form of substitution drills) was used (usually referred to as the audio-lingual method) has been changed to ``activity``. The substitution drill practice presented a relatively passive repetition activity that was weak in developing learner`s practical communication abilities. The need to use active and original ``activities`` in the latest learning exercises focused on the learner. Second, the ``after-learning activity`` was changed to ``combined learning activity``. The latest learning activities are intensifying and practicing the ``before/during/after`` aspects of the teaching-learning process. Third, current trends emphasize the four language skills - speaking·listening·reading·writing. Forth, changing the learning activity from ``self-practice`` to a ``reciprocal learning activity`` done in pairs or groups is appearing frequently promotes actual verbal interaction and therefore practical communication. On this basis, the purpose of the learning activity should be presented clearly, and the frame of the possible learning activity should be presented as a concrete process. Finally, and if the learning activity relates to cultural aspects of the language, it should attract the interest of the learners in order to create as memorable an activity as possible. 신문 수업용 어휘 목록의 작성 방향

The aim of this paper is to expound the characteristics of vocabulary in news articles and to present how to make vocabulary lists for a newspaper class. The corpus of news article texts is analysed in terms of frequency of occurrence and coverage. The result is as follows; Vocabulary in news article texts includes more than 25,000 types. About 80% of vocabulary in news article texts is low-frequency words which appear less than 10 times in the whole corpus of news article texts. Also, vocabulary in news article texts is different from that of the standard corpus as well as vocabulary in Korean texts in its frequency distribution. Especially news article text corpus and Korean text corpus differ from each other in that the former includes words of politics unlike the latter. Based on frequency analysis of word families and text coverage, vocabulary lists for low-frequency words can be made. Word families with a fundamental word, word families with a more frequent word, word families with a semitechnical low-frequency word and word families with low-frequency words should be introduced in a newspaper class in turn. In addition, technical vocabulary in news article texts such as names, places and organizations, appears relatively frequently so that technical vocabulary lists need to be made. These lists of word families in news article texts help instructors not only to make vocabulary material for a newspaper class but also to make possible a more effective current events class dealing with newspaper articles. 중국인 학습자언어에 나타나는 한국어 종성에 대한 음향,청취 음성학적 오류분석

This study is an error analysis of the Chinese learner`s language. Using auditory judgement and acoustic materials, I analyzed the phonetic value of the Korean syllable final consonants. Learners used omission or replacement strategy in order to syllable final consonants. Syllable final unvoiced consonants was replaced by correspondent nasals or explosives. If the syllable final consonants are /n, ŋ/, proceeding vowels are changed the phonetic value. In the learner`s language, every syllable has similar duration. A large percentage of errors was due to the interlingual transfer. We should include the phoneme combination constraints in the contrastive analysis and teach the shortening the vowel of the closed syllable. (Kyungsung University)

In this study, I examined the characteristics of the communication function expressed in practical conversation and I discussed the plan of its application to the Korean Language Education. In order to teach the communication function more effectively, we should make a practical application of the contents on the communication function education based on the principles of discourse. I also examined the application of the education contents, laying stress on the suggestion function, as one between various communication function. The suggestion function is one of the communication functions which are frequent in everyday conversations. In the suggestion function I clarified how is the interaction of the participants in the conversation shown, and which forms of language are used, and I searched for the plans of the practical application to the Korean language education. The composition of the education contents should reflect the types of the conversation which is following the difference between the expression of the suggestion and its purposes. The following constructions of the suggestion conversation are reflecting the contents: [suggestion] → [accepting a suggestion] / [suggestion] → [rejection of the suggestion] / [suggestion] → [accepting a part of the suggestion] / [suggestion] → [opposite suggestion] / [deriving of the suggestion] → [suggestion] → [a accepting suggestion]. This study aims at presenting the development direction of Korean social and cultural teaching materials for Koreanology majors according to the necessity of the Korean language teaching materials and the needs of Korean language education in China for Koreanology majors. We had found that investigating the characteristics and needs of students must precede all others to enhance the effectiveness in all classes, and so we questioned Koreanology professors and majors in Chinese universities on that. According to the survey results, we decided to set the development direction of the materials as follows. In the aspects of form, first, due to the materials will be for the Koreanology major students, we are to write them in Korean language. Second, according to analyzing the needs of students, they require the lecture and discussion be together, and so we present the subject for discussion or meditation in the closing parts of the materials. Third, we will put special corner and internet web site in the material for them to be practical sources. On the other hand, in the aspects of contents, under the educational goal of training integrated men of ability well-grounded in Korean language, society and culture, we try to reflect the characteristics of Korean social and cultural aspects inclusively. Finally, this study will consider the proportion of tradition and the present day, simultaneously represent the difference between Chinese culture and Korean culture. In Korean society, there has been a rapid growth of multi-cultural families due to the increase of immigrant females to get married with Korean husbands in the last 10 years. Difficulties in communication resulting from language differences are the most distressing issue which the multi-cultural families face. Language problems are painful not only to the married immigrant wives but also to their Korean family members. It causes family trouble and can lead to the family break-up crisis. For married immigrants and their children, Korean is used to accomplish the real life tasks, and it is also necessary to be used for their survival. Therefore educational materials in Korean language should be developed, focusing on the real-life language and the local language which are closely related to the lives of married immigrants in Korea. Korean cultural education should also be designed and conducted considering their ways of living. By doing these, Korean language education can directly help the multi-cultural families. In conclusion, educational contents in Korean language for multi-cultural families should be designed to consider the family`s surroundings and current problems, contributing to the establishment of self-identity and helping to resolve the multi-cultural family difficulties.
