NHK 한국어 강좌 교재의 발음표기에 대한 실태 분석 -종성 발음을 중심으로-

These additional remarked Kana marks for Korean in broadcasting texts for Korean course of NHK radio and NHK TV are researched. NHK TV Annyeonghasimnika? Korean Course 70 textbooks (1996-2007) and NHK radio Annyeonghasimnika? Korean Course 69 textbooks (1991-2007) published by Japan Broadcasting Publishing Association, in all 139 textbooks the ratio of Kana marks for Korean is made a comparative study and for the past 15-16 years Kana marks for Korean final sound are examined. As the result, the use of Kana marks are apparently on the increase. But the present question is that Kana marks are written different types in variety. Therefore, it is absolutely in need of study unification of Kana marks for Korean final sound. Kana marks for Korean is very important and meaningful in Korean beginning course. 학문 목적 한국어 듣기 교육의 현황과 과제 -일본어교육에서의 선행연구와 비교하여-

Journal of Korean Language Education Recently there is the need for the study of Korean for academic purposes for foreign learners who go on to university or graduate school in Korea. In Japan, research of Japanese for academic purposes is proceeded from 1980`s and researchers had studied `Academic Japanese` actively since the development of EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission). This study focused on listening education in Korean for academic purposes and analyzed it comparing with the study of Japanese education. This study will review the definition of academic purposes in Korean education and Japanese education first. And then this study will classify the advanced researches into four category (research based on date analysis, teaching-learning research, teaching materials research, assessment research) analyzed them and suggested some issues finally. The purpose of this study is to analyze the text of listening comprehension test and find out how authenticity of spoken language, turn taking, backchannel cues is realized and it suggests how to organize the text of listening comprehension test. To infer whether the learner is properly following the listening material, it should be preceded to organize authentic listening text based on real-world listening. However, listening texts are usually organized into one to one conversation except very few, and they represent turn-taking conversation which makes it difficult to find out how the rules of turn-taking actually take place. Also, the topic shift based on meaningful relation is refined without interruption or intrusion and there is no mutual response between the two persons. In listening comprehension test, it has significant meaning as a practical matter that educationally processed listening text can be easily inputted while unlike grammar of vocabulary which needs correction depending on the learner`s cognitive level, spoken language can be verified in the aspect of interaction and that`s why authenticity should be guaranteed when listening text is organized. 부정적 전이로 인한 중국어권 학습자의 오류 분석

Foreign learners can not avoid mistakes when they are learning foreign languages. According to what errors people make when they are learning a second language, we can get a general idea about which steps they are in by now. What`s more, the errors could be evidence that shows the lack of learners even the ways about how they learn. It is important and meaningful to analyze the errors and decrease them when people are learning a second language. The errors happen in spelling vocabulary, auxiliary words, declension and word order. In addition, the causes are complicated. This paper focused on the errors of vocabulary, auxiliary words and word order that happen between Chinese learners when they are writing Korean under the effect of their mother tongue. This paper also gives a useful teaching method after analyzing the causes. (Korea College of shandong University)
The purpose of this article is to describe the current situation of Korean culture education in the Spanish-speaking world and to suggest some ideas for its future development. This article does not examine the cultural differences between Korean speakers and Spanish speakers from the anthropological point of view, but the importance of the cultural differences must be recognized and stressed. The aim of Korean culture education is to show how the Korean cultures settles down in a general framework through the reflection of likenesses and differences between Korean culture and the other culture. In this sence, cultural relativism is very important in this globalized world. In this article, the author explains that the foreign students have an interest in knowing not only the positive things about Korean culture but also the negative facets. The teacher should never communicate a sense of cultural superiority over the others. He/She should interprete the Korean culture from a non-occidental point of view and let the students compare two cultures from their own point of view. In this globalized world, the students receive all kinds of information through innumerable and various ways. The successful Korean culture class has to be open-minded to hear the students` interpretations about Korean culture from their own cultural code. (Pontifical Catholic University of Chile)

한국어의 주격표지에 관한 소고: 외국어로서의 한국어 학습자를 위한 제언

본고는 한국어 구문에서 나타나는 주격조사(는/은, 이/가)의 중복출현 현상(`주격중출`)에 주목하고, 그것과 `pro-drop`(Chomsky 1981, Towell & Hawkins 1994)의 특질 중 하나인 `주어생략`(Null Subject)과의 관련성에 대해 논의하고자 한다. 본고에서 논의하고자 하는 `주격중출`(예, 철수는 영희가 좋다.)은 한국어 모어화자의 말과 글에서 흔히 나타나지만, 한국어를 배우는 외국인 학습자들은 그들의 모국어에 따라 이 문형을 자연스럽게 받아들이는 데 어려움을 겪는 것으로 관찰되었다. 그로 인해 필자는 한국어(혹은 일본어)에서 나타나는 이러한 `주격중출` 현상을 외국인 학습자가 어떻게 받아들이는가, 그것을 얼마나 잘 습득 할 수 있는가, 그리고 그것이 보편문법(Universal Grammar)과 어떤 관련성을 갖고 있는가에 대해 관심을 갖게 되었다. 이를 위해 본고는, `주격중출`과 관련된 지금까지의 연구들을 세 가지 범주-초점화(topicalization) 가설, 심리동사(psychological verb) 가설, 연관효과(clustering effect)에 의한 [±주어생략] 가설-로 분류하여 각각의 설명에 대한 비판적 논의를 시도하고, 세 번째 가설의 대안으로서 `주격중출`과 [+주어생략]의 연관성에 대한 새로운 관점을 제시하고자 한다. 본고의 논의를 통해서 한국어의 `주격중출`에 대한 대조언어학적 이해를 높이고, 아울러 외국인을 위한 한국어 `주격중출`의 효과적 교수 및 학습에 대한 시사점을 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 한국어교수법의 새 방향

It is imperative that different pedagogical orientations be respected as complementary and not be considered as mutually exclusive. Instead of indiscriminately subscribing to the pendulum of pedagogical trends, the characteristics of the Korean language and the native language of learners have to be taken as the motivating factors for adopting and adapting to "new" directions in pedagogy. In light of the fact that Korean is a Group IV language (on the US Foreign Service Institute scale) and thus one of the most difficult languages for English speakers, I propose, in redesigning of "New Directions in Korean Language Teaching Methodology," rather than seeking and subscribing to a monolithic approach or a definitive methodology, that we develop an approach that complements a "scientific approach" and communicative language teaching methods. Two seminal empirical research results are presented to support such a complementary approach. (University of Hawaii)
Recently, in KFL many literature education methods are being studied in a variety of ways. However, among the many studies, it is still difficult to find audio-visual media that is being utilized in Korean education. At the present time, many learners are exposed to various types of media, including television dramas, the internet, and films. Therefore, we should utilize these types of media in literature education to encourage a more stimulating learning environment for the learner. Among the variety of audio-visual media, this study plans to present films in literature education. If a film is used in Korean literature education along with the novel, learners are not only able to easily understand the meaning of the novel, but also increase their interest in Korean culture and society. The purpose of this study is to illustrate the importance of reading the novel while actively viewing the film to create meaningful discussion in the classroom among the learners. Although the film was originally adapted from a novel, the narrator, characters, setting and the ending are considerably different. When comparing and analyzing these elements through the novel and film, the learners become aware of the benefits of studying both medias. This study offers a real example of teaching a novel by utilizing Ju Yo-seob`s novel, `The Houseguest and My Mother` (1931) along with the film adaptation of the novel directed by Shin Sang-ok (1961). 말하기 숙달도 평가에 관한 논평 - ACTFL OPI를 대상으로-

The use of the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines and Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) has been widespread for language testing even though they have been criticized by researchers of second language acquisition and testing since their genesis in 1982. Much of this criticism has focused on reliability and validity for the OPI. In light of this, the purpose of this paper to identify the criticism on the oral proficiency interview and to provide recommendations for other proficiency test areas of future study. This paper presents (1) an overview of research carried out on the ACTFL OPI and Guidelines, (2) a summary of the criticism leveled against them and discussions on other points of view over the criticism learned from research, and (3) recommendations such as interrater reliability, raters` training session, elicitation process, comparison with other oral proficiency test, analytic assessment, oral proficiency interview for multi-purposes for further research. 한국어 독학용 어휘학습 교재 개발 방안 -좁은 독서를 통한 점증적 어휘학습 전략 활용-

The purpose of this study is to propose a development scheme of vocabulary textbooks for self-study through `incremental vocabulary learning strategy`. Generally, vocabulary is considered as what learners should acquire on their own responsibility. Therefore, it is necessary to develop vocabulary textbook which considers such a self-studying environment. Also, the meaning of the vocabulary should not remain in the level of simple translation but it should be presented in a way that enlarges and deepens the meaning throughout the various contexts. For this purpose, incremental vocabulary learning strategy is needed, which does not simply depend on learner`s memory. The self-studying vocabulary textbook proposed in this study is significant as the following. Firstly, the textbook is not a material for teaching but for self-learning. Secondly, the textbook does not integrate all functions of language learning but it separately focuses on the vocabulary learning. Thirdly, the textbook provides learners, who have inferior memory, an easy mechanism to learn vocabulary by adopting incremental vocabulary learning strategy. (Kyung Hee University·Yonsei University)
