장르별 글쓰기 수업의 Dicto-Comp적용 연구 -외국어로서 한국어 중급 학습자를 대상으로-

The purpose of this article is to examine the educational effect by analyzing improvements of student`s writing ability after applying Dicto-Comp based Kleinmann & Selekman(1980) model. For this experiment, the experimental group consists of 49 intermediate students. In addition, this also included the students` opinion towards the effects of this exercise technique for writing. The result for this experiment is as follows. This find out that the Dicto-Comp model helped improve student`s writing ability, especially the ability of discourse structure, compare to the control group. Nevertheless, this is significant since the learners who used the Dicto-comp technic have shown improvements in their discourse structure ability in a short period time. 중국어권 한국어 학습자의 숙달도별 읽기 전략 연구

This Study presents reading strategy categories and individual reading strategies implemented by Chinese background speakers of different Korean proficiency levels. As a result of analysis, the present study suggests three conclusions. First, compared to intermediate learners beginners show no statistical significance in the use of strategic categories and individual strategies. However, compared to advanced learners, they use more strategic categories such as the `social reading strategy`, the `affective reading strategy`, and individual strategies such as `translating`, `questioning` and `emotion controlling`. Second, no strategic categories are significantly employed by intermediate learners compared to beginners, but individual strategies such as `paraphrasing` is used frequently. Unlike advanced users, Intermediate learners tend to use more strategic categories such as the `social reading strategy` and `affective reading strategy` and more individual strategies such as `translating` and `questioning`. Third, as for advanced learners, no statistical significance are found in the use of strategic categories but employ individual strategies such as `re-reading` and `no translating` frequently compared to beginners. Advanced learners, compared to intermediate learners, present no difference in the use of strategic categories but frequently employ individual strategies such as `re-reading`.

학문 목적 외래어 목록 선정 연구

The aim of this research is to select the list of borrowed words which are necessary and causes difficulties in studying for the most of learners for academic purpose and to help them for studying in the university. Borrowed words takes large part of Korean words and the weight is getting creased. Especially, since terminology for the major includes a lot of borrowed words, the learners have great difficulties in studying. Therefore, the research examined the text books for the academic purposes for foreign students, and selected borrowed words in terms of a established criteria and then investigated the frequency of these words of web sites. In addition, the characteristics of borrowed words for academic purpose are described. Given that there is no lists of borrowed words for academic purposes by each majors, the list of borrowed words would be effectively used for the learners who need to study those words which are differently used in their mother tongue, as well as English. Further, the research would be the basic work for developing dictionaries of borrowed words and textbooks for self-study for the academic purpose. (KyungHee University)

문화 인식과 의사소통 증진을 위한 프로젝트 기반 한국어 학습

One of the most constant challenges language educators confront is how best to enhance the learner`s cultural awareness as well as improve communication skills. This paper presents a case study of project-based learning in which students develop autonomous and collaborative learning skills through the understanding of Korean culture. The case study is based on two projects undertaken by three undergraduate students in Australia who were studying Korean. One project was carried out jointly by two students and the other by a single student. Both projects involved viewing Korean dramas or films to analyze Korean cultural aspects with comparison to Australian and Japanese cultures, and discussion of the findings with Koreans. The analysis of students` journals and final project reports suggests that this type of learning activity is more effective than conventional classes in terms of the acquisition of cross-cultural competence and the development of autonomous and collaborative learning skills. This type of project-based learning is also useful for the teaching of less commonly taught languages because it does not increase teachers` workload significantly, unlike most project-based teaching. 한일 한국어 교육과정 연계에 대하여 -교육기관 간의 교육과정 연계를 위한 한 방안-

Korean language education has been developing various the curriculums according to a target of students and objectives or purposes of studying. For instance, there are curriculums with general purposes of language proficiency for students studying abroad and academic purposes for students who are planning to study in a Korean university or graduate schools. However there has been less discussed about a curriculum for a short term of immersion programs so it is required to discuss and develop a curriculum for the program. As for initiating a development of the curriculum, it is discussed and analyzed regarding some short term immersion programs that have been doing in Korean universities comparing the curriculums of Korean language in Japanese universities. In addition, it is proposed a curriculum for the short term immersion program based on a survey that was targeted participants to short term immersion programs in the paper.

어휘 교육 자료로서의 어휘의미망 활용에 관하여

This study is aimed to present that the lexical semantic network is useful for the Korean vocabulary education. For a long time, lots of issues on the vocabulary education has been under active discussion, but the discussion on the application of lexical semantic network for education is still very low. Learning vocabulary must include the knowledge of the lexical relation and grammatical information such as case frame and argument information for a specific word. A semantic network is a large scale word database. It shows the lexical relation information such as hypernymy, hyponymy, synonymy and polysemy etc. It also contains the grammatical information such as on the case frame and the argument meaning. This study tried to show how we can use this kinds of information of CoreNet(which is one of the multilingual semantic network of KAIST) for the vocabulary education. In section 3, I tried to explain the concept hierarchy of CoreNet and the way of showing the semantic and grammatical information. In section 4, the methods of using the data of network for vocabulary education were proposed.

The study is to examine the present situation for developing the multimedia-assisted materials used at the Korean language Institute. The development of the TAS passed through some steps, which is forming a teaching plan, producing multimedia materials, and founding a solution by a process of trial and error. This study drew up a detailed report of the progress and suggested that Korean could be taught using multimedia materials. The key is that we need to recognize the necessity of instructional models using multimedia and to set the teacher`s role in Korean education using multimedia. This paper would be a guide for the development of multimedia materials in Korean education. And the system makes it possible for standardization of Korean teaching in Korean language Institute. The purpose of this article is to examine the meaning of Korean language for overseas Koreans, finally in order to decide the prospects of Korean language education for them. Firstly, this article reviews some existing studies on this subject. Secondly, the meaning of Korean language for overseas Koreans is investigated by virtue of comparison between the concepts of mother tongue, second language and heritage language. And then, this article tries to propose philosophy or objective as well as future direction of Korean language education for overseas Koreans. Finally, this article is concluded by laying stress not only on appropriateness of approach to Korean language as a heritage language but also on importance of Korean language education which pays due regard to concrete motivation or reason for learning Korean language of overseas Koreans.

일음절 부사의 의미 특성 및 교육 방안 연구

This study is the preliminary investigation to design teaching methods of monosyllabic adverbs in Korean language education. Analysis of monosyllabic adverbs focused on differential meaning features would be basis of presenting them to Korean language learners exactly and efficiently. Therefore, I examine meanings, examples, and predicates are co-occurred with monosyllabic adverbs in dictionary for grasping differential meaning features of them. And then, the typical and differential meaning features of monosyllabic adverbs are arranged according to their replacement possibility, meaning diversity, and usage. The meaning feature of `꾹` is [push something into limited space] or [let something stay in limited space]. `꽉` shows [the state which something stays in limited space] or [the state which one adheres closely to another]. `쑥` shows [something maximumly moves to a direction] and `싹` exposes [some action is achieved, so former state is removed]. `쫙` has the meaning feature that [the state spreaded to wide scope] and `쭉` displays [some action or state keeps continuously]. The meaning feature of `뚝` is [continuous action or state suddenly stops] and `딱` shows [one mostly correspondences to another]. Suggestion about these meaning features of monosyllabic adverbs will make Korean language learners accurately and properly use monosyllabic adverbs.

본 연구는 외국어 학습에서 의사소통 능력 신장을 위해 대화의 중요성을 강조하는 사회문화적 관점에서 한국어를 외국어로 학습하는 16명의 미국 대학의 학습자들과 그들의 원어민 화자와의 교실 밖에서의 담화 내용을 질적으로 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 한 본 연구의 목적은 한국어 학습자들과 원어민과의 대화 교류가 어떻게 이루어지고 있으며 대화 과정에서 학습자들이 겪는 어려움 및 문제점의 원인을 밝히는 것이다. 본 연구에 참여한 16명의 한국어 학습자들의 약 64시간의 대화 내용 중 표본 추출한 대화 내용을 분석한 결과 학습자와 원어민 화자 쌍방의 제 2언어 능력 (학습자의 한국어 능력과 원어민의 영어 능력)의 역할이 원어민 화자와의 대화를 성공적으로 이끄는 데 중요한 변수가 될 수 있다고 하는 모형을 제시하였다. 이 모형을 바탕으로 한국어 학습자의 의사소통 능력을 신장시키기 위해 원어민과의 교실 밖에서의 자연스러운 대화 활동을 활용, 그 효과를 극대화하기 위한 교육적 방안을 논의하고자 한다.
