학문 목적 한국어교육 현황 및 대책 -광주,전남 지역 소재 4년제 대학을 중심으로-

This study aims to analyse the current status and problems of Korean education for academic purpose at 4-year universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam and present directions of Korean curriculum for academic purpose according to ranges of Korean education and various types of students variables. As a result, it was discovered through analysing the four universities that the number of undergraduates or graduates was much more than that of language students, and most of the students were studying humanities. Therefore, it is suggested that the focus of the Korean education should be on academic purpose rather than general and a focus of the curriculum should be given on students in humanities. In respect to directions of Korean education for academic purpose, under the assumption that better results can be obtained when needs with various differences according to ranges of Korean for academic purpose and types of students are reflected, Korean for academic purpose should be categorized into ``Basic Korean``, ``Korean for General Academic Purpose``, and ``Korean for Specific Academic Purpose``, and types of students should be categorized into ``undergraduates`` and ``graduates``. The study sub-categorized them according to their specific purposes of studying and properties of major studies, interviewed them to analyse their needs and presented directions based on the results.

This study was started with the following question; how can we recognize readily that this text is proper for a certain class as an educational material. It is required to prepare the criteria of identifying the eligible reading text for the student who has the different level and the different purpose. The purpose of this study is to suggest the easy way to judge the text difficulty, which helps the teachers decide to bring this text to their classroom or not. For the purpose of the study, the analysis on the texts from the existing reading materials for the university KAP students and the quantitative measurement about the vocabulary, the specific expressions and the length of the each sentences from the texts were performed. Also the survey of the 100-students and the 16-teachers about the difficulty of the 9 texts selected the above analysis and measurement was conducted. According to the analysis and the survey, the formula of the vocabulary and the expression is effective to find the text difficulty. It is found that the 25~30 vocabulary index and the 10~15 expression index are right for the university KAP students. Based on this result, it is possible to establish readability index system for each level.

상징을 통한 한국 문화 교육 연구 -문화 상징 항목을 중심으로-

The use of symbols in communication has not been discussed within Korean language education. This study aims to do just that. Symbols play an important role in improving the understanding of a language within a culture. Symbols are not universal; they are different according to nation and language. In a way, symbols become an important keyword. Understanding of symbols used by interlocutors not only enhances overall communication but achieves accuracy. But the symbolic system is too broad. This study is of two fold: first, it examines how symbols are organized within Korean language textbooks; second, it will outline ways of categorizing the symbolic system within Korean language education. From there, it aims to look at how symbols can be utilized within Korean language education from the intercultural communication stance. Symbols within Korean culture education will serve as a platform to discuss taboos and metaphors fundamental to Korean language education. This would help Korean language teachers understand various ideas that exist within the root of Korean culture and the cultures of learners.

한국어 관계절 구조의 교수와 일반화 가능성에 관한 연구

In this quasi-experimental study we attempted to determine the relation between universal typology and learnability as claimed in NPAH. In particular, we tried to determine which of the two hypotheses, Markedness generalization hypothesis & Learnability hypothesis, which are considered important in SLA with respect to learnability, provides more appropriate explanation about the developmental stages of Korean RCs. And we investigated what are more effective teaching techniques in comprehending and producing Korean RCs. For this, we compared the effects between the input-based teaching method(esp. Processing Instruction: PI) and the meaning based output-based teaching method(MOI). Results of sentence combination tests & picture selection tests showed that participants were able to generalize rules for other RCs types(SU, OBL), though they received an instruction focused on the structure of DO, a relatively unmarked structure, that they had not been taught. And as for the effect of teaching on RCs, PI and MOI methods are effective in increasing the rate of acquisition of Korean RCs. However, the results of comparison between PI and MOI showed that there are no statistically significant differences. However, given that the PI group who participated only in input activities, we found that PI is a very effective teaching technique not only in understanding target structures but also in producing them.

한국어 연결어미 "-길래"의 특성과 교수 방안 연구

Many Korean conjunctive endings have been actively researched to teach to foreigners. However, the ``-Killay`` ending has not yet been fully researched. Consequently Korean language learners have difficulties learning the ``-Killay`` ending and make many errors using it in sentences. When Korean learners make grammatical errors, they make morphological, syntax and semantic errors in general. However, with ``-Killay``, the learners show little difficulties using it morphologically, but many of the errors are due to their not knowing its syntax and semantic usages in general. This study looks first into previous studies about ``-Killay`` along with explanations in Korean language dictionaries, Korean language grammar dictionaries and Korean language textbooks. Secondly, this study examines the features of ``-Killay`` in its grammatical and semantic dimensions from the view of its declarative and interrogative features. Finally, this study suggests the teaching method of ``-Killay`` using a PPP model in Korean language education.

한국어 어두파열음 삼중대립 지각학습 효과 -일본인과 중국인 학습자를 대상으로-

This study conducted perceptual training experiments on Japanese and Chinese learners of Korean in order to examine how the perception of the three-way distinction of Korean stops differs by the learners` native languages and find out whether perceptual training can remove such difference. Before the perceptual training, the patterns of perception appeared the opposite in Japanese and Chinese learners. The Japanese discriminated lenis the best and their distinction ability was relatively lower in aspirated and fortis. However, the Chinese discriminated fortis the best and their distinction ability was relatively lower in lenis and aspirated. After the perceptual training, the distinction ability of both the Japanese and Chinese improved in all phonemes, proving the effects of the training. Especially, the distinction ability of the Japanese improved greatly in fortis, shaping the patterns of perception of the learners of the two countries similar. Through these results, it was possible to verify that perceptual training exerts positive effects on the improvement of phoneme distinction ability.

한국어 교육 관련 다문화가족지원사업의 문제점과 개선 방안

There are Multicultural Families Support Center and the Social Integration program that provide Korean Language Education. The research of detailed contents of these programs shows the related government agencies implement competitively similar programs in an overlapping manner. In order to solve these problems the related government agencies signed memorandum of understanding in 2010. This paper refers to the current situation and related problems of the two government agencies in terms of curriculum, textbook, evaluation, teacher and also to make suggestions for solving problems. First of all, it is necessary to make a Korean Language curriculum for migrants, but it takes a long time and much effort. Therefore the agencies can accept temporary the criterion of TOPIK. Based on this criterion, we can later development the new curriculum.

문법 교육에 대한 한국어 교사의 인식 연구

The purpose of this study is to analyze the cognitions that Korean language teachers have about teaching grammar, and to use the results to propose the future direction of Korean grammar education research. The study was conducted through a survey. First, quantitative analysis was conducted by surveying teachers on the proportion of curricula taken up by grammar, the difficulty of teaching grammar, and the necessary tools for effective grammar lessons. For more in-depth analysis, open questions were presented concerning specific difficulties faced during grammar instruction, difficulties felt in the classroom, personal problem resolution methods, and suggestions for researchers of Korean grammar education. The results provided understanding of the current state of Korean grammar instruction and implications for the future. There is a large amount of research already completed on Korean grammar education, but more research that is actively applicable to teaching grammar must be conducted. Effective results must be created through research on grammar system, syllabus, and the standardization of grammar terminology. Above all, the creation practical and pedagogical materials must be promoted in order to provide solutions to needs in actual educational environments.

한국인,외국인 간 강의 듣기 전략의 사용 양상 비교

As the number of learners of Korean for Academic purposes grows, attention toward the skills required for listening to lectures has been heightened. Strategies for listening to lectures has been received attention as the basis of understanding lectures. Before pointing out the most effective strategy and how to teach listening strategy, it is necessary to understand what kinds of listening strategies Korean learners for academic purposes usually use. For this purpose, this study polled 68 foreign students, and the survey consisted of three different part―: Meta-cognitive strategy, Cognitive strategy and Socio-affective strategy. Considering that a competent learner can use the same strategies under both L1 and L2 situations, I also polled 71 Korean students. Even though the Korean university students group is different from the Korean learners group, it is worth comparing as an L1 group and L2 group. This study could not say what the most effective strategy is, but it could say what kinds of strategies Korean learners mostly rely on to understand lectures, and what strategies are most difficult for Korean learners to use. From this study, we can approach what we teach and how to teach strategies for listening to lectures. This result can help how Korean learners learn and develop strategies for listening to lectures.

한글학교 교사 교육의 방향 모색 -요구 분석을 중심으로-

Korean school (is a school) currently running solely on weekends and of the teachers mainly consists of pupil`s parents, missionary, a Korean student studying aboard, and volunteers. Moreover, these teachers are typically, informal teachers and teachers schooling aboard and teachers with Korean nationality. Contrasting to the typical Korean teachers in Korea (who educates foreigners), these teachers in Korean school should be educated differently. In this paper, it explores the contemporary Korean school`s teacher education. Through demands research of these teachers, Korean school teachers one proposed the future direction of Korean teacher education. Firstly, currently the duration holiday curriculum consists of 60 hours. Secondly, the method of educating Korean teachers, should be centered. Thirdly, Korean teacher education is through Web-based distance education and congregational education is suitable, by the corroborating blended learning. Around practical training with practical teaching content, which then could be immediately utilized in the lesson.
