The corresponding Japanese ‘Kana’ list under the Korean loanword orthography is used for Korean language education as a foreign language in Japan. The purpose of this study is to focus on the various problems caused when writing Japanese words in Korean using the corresponding Kana list and establishing an improvement plan in order to minimize the problems. As a preliminary, taking notice of the syllable-final stop <ㅅ(siot)>, the Korean Loanword Orthography was analyzed through Optimality Theory. As a result, in the current orthography, it was confirmed that Clause 3 comes first than Clause 2 under Article1 which is the Notation Principle. Also the fact that the maintenance of phonological features of the original input is significant has been concluded. Furthermore, writing Japanese words in Korean was analyzed in such matter presented as above. As for the target of this study, the syllable-final nasal has been selected. After examining the results, writing Japanese words in Korean under Loanword Orthography demonstrates a different order of priority from above. With the analysis through the OT, being consistent with the Loanword Orthography principle and minimizing the gap between the input caused by phonological phenomena at the same time, <ㅇ(ieung)> was proposed as an alternative for the Japanese /N/. In this paper, a text type-based translation method for Chinese translation in Korean language course books is presented using the concept of textuality. This study proposes a method for Korean-Chinese translations of language course books by subdividing the types of texts in Korean language materials and differentiating the translation method accordingly. To elaborate, informative translation is appropriate for vocabulary, expressions, grammar explanations; operative translation is appropriate for rubrics, expressive translation is appropriate for dialog texts. For dialogues, both expressive translations and informative translation can be used together to fully convey the communicational function of the dialogues. Based on these arguments, this study reviews the Chinese translation of “Sejong Korean 1, 2” of King Sejong Institute Foundation as an example, and points out the translation problems, and suggests some improving methods.
