외국인 학부 유학생의 대학 생활 적응에 관한 혼합 연구

The present study investigates international students’ adjustment to college in South Korea. Data were collected from 102 international college students through the College Adjustment Survey (CAS) and through qualitative interviews. The results showed the following: 1) freshmen’s adjustment level was the highest while sophomore was the lowest. This indicates that when first-year international students move up to the second year, they would struggle to adjust in college; 2) international students in the humanities and social sciences seem to have more difficulty in language/academic adjustment than those in other majors; 3) the length of stay in South Korea was a variable that had a great influence on college adjustment. In particular, the adaptation to college was low for the group whose stay was between 1 and 3 years; 4) according to the participants’ self-assessed proficiency of Korean, there were differences in academic, language, and cultural adaptation; 5) social adaptation was highly correlated with the categories of college/major satisfaction, job adaptation, and career preparation. This suggests that social support is important, especially the presence of peers from their home countries as a strong source of social support for international students. Students studying Korean at Chinese universities have extremely limited opportunities and time to learn Korean outside of their classes. In particular, considering learners' Korean language levels, teachers often help learners understand in elementary courses by using the Chinese language. To provide learners with more listening input and to improve their listening skills in their classes, it is necessary to ensure that an effective listening curriculum is available. As the listening curriculum is a part of the overall curriculum of a Korean language department, improving the listening curriculum can bring about positive changes in related curricula and will also help to form a systematic Korean language curriculum. Accordingly, this study aims to investigate the current status of elementary and intermediate listening curricula and to uncover the perceptions and needs of learners and teachers in listening courses, thereby facilitating the design and improvement of their listening curriculum they use. For this purpose, this article initially defines the characteristics of the listening curricula used in Korean language departments and introduces the research method. Next, the results of a seven-part survey containing questions about subject organization, teaching and learning goals, teaching and learning contents, textbooks, teachers, evaluations, and difficulties in teaching and learning are analyzed. Based on this, several suggestions are presented on how to design and improve the elementary and intermediate listening curricula used by Korean language departments at Chinese universities. 한국어 차등 비교 표현의 교수-학습 방안

The purpose of this study was to examine the commonalities and differences of the comparative of inequality expressions ‘-보다’ and ‘-에 비해(서)’, which have not been noticed in Korean language education and to suggest steps of teaching-learning methods. In Korean language education ‘-보다’ and ‘-에 비해(서)’ has been the categorization of similar grammar items but the two expressions cannot be substituted for each other in all situations. In the study, the semantic differences between the two expressions were revealed through Korean language teaching materials. Through this, the use for the two expressions were categorized into three situations: first, when both ‘-보다’ and ‘-에 비해(서)’ can be used; second, when only ‘-보다’ can be used; and third, when only ‘-에 비해(서)’ can be used. Based on the study, the teaching-learning methods was presented in four steps so that Korean learners can clearly recognize the difference between the two expressions and use them appropriately depending on the situation.
