Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify clusters of perfectionism with cluster analysis and to investigate differences of academic burnout and achievement goal orientation among clusters of medical students. Methods: The participants were a total of 221 students comprising 55 premedical course students, 166 medical course students. Data were collected from August 28 to September 9, 2015 by self-administered survey questionnaire. All scales used in this study as followed: Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (HFMPS), Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS), 2×2 achievement goal orientation scale. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, cluster analysis and MANOVA using SPSS version 22.0. Results: Four groups were identified: non-perfectionism, socially-prescribed perfectionism, other-oriented perfectionism, typical perfectionism. The group of socially-prescribed perfectionism is higher than the group of non-perfectionism and typical perfectionism in academic burnout. Also, the group of typical perfectionism which are high in self-oriented perfectionism showed high mastery-approach goal and performance-approach goal. The group of socially-prescribed perfectionism showed high scores in mastery-avoidance goal and performance-avoidance goal. Conclusions: This study found that the group of having high self-oriented perfectionism showed high mastery-approach goal and performance-approach goal orientation whereas socially-prescribed perfectionism showed high mastery-avoidance goal and performance-avoidance goal orientation. This suggests the importance of educational intervention for students to set their own personal standards and strive for achievement in the way of what they want not of what others would probably want them.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors influencing to fatigue of patients with chronic hepatitis B. Methods: The subjects were consisted of 140 patients with chronic hepatitis B who visited the K University Hospital in Daegu, Korea from May to June. Data were collected by selfadministered questionnaires of symptom distress, anxiety, self efficacy and fatigue with Likert scale. Collected Data were analyzed with SPSS 18.0 program. Results: The reported scores for symptom, anxiety, self-efficacy and fatigue were 1.55±0.58, 1.94±0.53, 3.60±0.64, 2.98±1.84, respectively. A positive correlation existed between fatigue and symptom (r=0.57, p=0.029), anxiety (r=0.64, p=0.000). In contrast, there was a negative correlation between fatigue and self-efficacy (r=-0.57, p=0.000). The influencing factors for fatigue were anxiety, symptom, the level of education and self-efficacy (R2=0.53, p<0.001). Conclusions: The results of this study provide comprehensive understanding of the influencing factors on fatigue in patients with chronic hepatitis B. These findings show that development for programs and strategies for reducing anxiety and symptom and enhancing self-efficacy are need to control fatigue in chronic hepatitis B patients.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate emotional intelligence and organizational commitment according to the coaching types of clinical nurses. Methods: The subject were 195 clinical nurses. Data collected from September 22 to October 10, 2014. Collected data were analyzed with χ2 test, Fisher’s exact test, Kruskal-Wallis test, ANCOVA and Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient analysis. Results: As for the distribution of coaching types among the participants, the friendly type consisted of 116 participants (59.5%), a social type consisted of 31 participants (15.9%), commanding type consisted of 25 participants (12.8%) and the analytical type consisted of 23 participants (11.8%). Differences in general characteristics according to coaching types were statistically significant in age, marital status, job experience and current job position. There were statistically significant difference in emotional intelligence, regulation of emotion, use of emotion, emotional commitment and normative commitment according to coaching type. There were significant correlation between emotional intelligence and organizational commitment of coaching types excluding the commanding type. Conclusions: These findings suggest that in order to higher levels of emotional intelligence and organizational commitment of clinical nurses, it is necessary to understand the coaching type of individual clinical nurses and to develop and implement systematic programs for efficient personnel management to attain.

Objectives: This study aims to classify the type of health information seeking behavior on the internet by using the cluster analysis and to compare health consciousness and smart-phone literacy according to the type of health information seeking behavior on the internet among one university students. Methods: The research design for this study was a descriptive survey design using a quata sample. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 373 undergraduate students located in G city. Data were analyzed using χ2 test, ANOVA, scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficients, factor analysis and cluster analysis with the SPSS WIN 22.0 Program. Results: Factor analysis showed 10 items in 3 factors. Cluster analysis revealed 3 distinct type of health information seeking behavior on the internet. Clusters were named ‘passive health information user type’, ‘community-based health information user type’, and ‘independent health information power-user type’. Clusters was founded and has differences in health information search, online community usage and productive health information activity. Conclusions: Findings of this study allow a comprehensive understanding of the health information seeking behavior on the internet and related factors among undergraduate in Korea. Further study with a larger random sample from various universities is necessary.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to demonstrate the intervention meta-analysis using STATA software. Methods: We conducted a meta-analysis using three types of data that included difference in means in continuous data, hazard ratio in time to event data, and proportion in percent data. STATA commands were metan and metaprop for overall effect size and forest plot, metareg for metaregression, and metafunnel, metabias, and metatrim for publication bias. Results: The estimated overall effect sizes, test for heterogeneity and moderator, and the publication bias were reported using STATA commands by three types of data. Especially authors stressed how to evaluate heterogeneity in intervention meta-analysis. Conclusions: Few of Korean books and articles related to the introducing meta-analysis have been published until now. However, they were not good for the Korean researchers who were non-majored in statistics due to the highly conceptual and theoretical contents. In order to encourage a conduction of meta-analysis, authors summarized commands of the STATA software related to conduct an intervention meta-analysis.

Objectives: A classification tree is one of the statistical tools that is widely used in the data mining field. It is useful for making statistical decisions, for example, in medical, biology, and business management area. In this paper, we examine newly developed classification tree algorithms and compare them with real examples in medical study, and provide a guideline to select appropriate methods for data analysis. Methods: For the comparison, we used four clinical datasets from UCI (University of California, Irvine) repository. We divide each data to 2/3 training and 1/3 test data set. After fitting the models with various R packages (tree, rpart, party, evtree, CORElearn and randomForest), misclassification rates for training data and test data are calculated separately. Also, specificity and sensitivity are calculated for test data. This procedure is repeated 200 times and compare misclassification rates with one-way analysis of variance and Tukey’s honest significant difference (HSD). Also, specificities and sensitivities are compared. Results: In every case, randomForest shows the best performance. For the single tree methods, the performance of methods is different in each data set. evtree show better performance than the other methods in most data sets. Most sensitivities in Breast Tissue and Dermatology data are quite large. rpart and ctree show very low specificity in Dermatology Data. Conclusions: Every method has its own characteristic and the performance depends on data. Our study shows that the best single tree methods are different in four example data and evtree shows slightly better performance than the other single tree methods in most data sets. randomForest always shows the best performance, mainly because of using a lot of trees instead of one tree.
